H 5 f f r 9i. 9 Students Play At Library Meet The Klamath Falls Woman's Library club enjoyed to the full est the program presented Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the main auditorium when Harlan P. Bosworth, recently returned from overseas, and students of -Harry Borel combined to make the day most interesting. Mr. Bosworth followed the entrance of the United States army and his branch of the service, engineers, into The Nether lands, described the interesting work done there and also told of the schools in Holland and compared them with the schools of this country. The music for the afternoon was provided by students of Harry Borel, and taking part were Marilee Crawford and Ethelmae Skinner, first violins; Donald Quick, viola; Louise Barnhart, accompanist; Neil Ol son, cello; Ralph Hayes. Frances Steams and Wayne Angel, sec ond violins. These seven children are grade school students and their average playing time is approxi mately two years, Mr. Borel said. Their timing was particu larly fine and of the many num bers which they played, the two most enjoyed were probably the , two movements from Mozart's Serenade, Allegro and Minuete. It is hoped that this group will play again. ' Hostesses for Monday after noon were John Ashley and Mrs. Carl Steinseifer. The next meeting of Library club will be held Monday, March 11, at the Little Theatre off Mon Claire when the drama group of AAUW will present the annual play given for the organization. ' - Card Party The public is invited to at tend the card party which is being planned by members of Sa cred Heart church Tuesday eve ning in the KC hall. All types of cards will be played. This is one of the pre-Leriten affairs planned by the church. Reservations may be made by calling Mrs. K. M. Moty, 5639; Mrs. Andrew Honzel, 4374, or Mrs. Francis Manning, 3469. Kappa Chapter Mrs. Arthur Moore, assisted by Mrs. Lloyd Drew, entertained the Kappa chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority at its annual Valentine party given on Thurs day evening, February 14. After the regular meeting and pro gram was given, games were the order of the evening, with Mrs. Norman Moty winning the prize. Refreshments were served to the following, Marjorie Charon, Ann Dalcour. Marie Divens, Nancy Milne, Pauline Pernell, Lillian Redkey, Evilo Saunders. Elenora Weatherford, Ava Whitlatch, Helen Crapo, Margaret Hannan, Phylis White, Martha Keller, Audrey Henricks, Barbara Ny hart, Jenes Moty, Betty Zirkle, and the hostesses. It was announced that the next meeting will be at the home of Ava Whitlatch, 425 Laguna, on Thursday, February 28. Four Years Old A Valentine birthday party Sunday delighted four-year-old Kathleen Dougherty, who was honored by her parents, Mr. ana Mrs. James Dougherty, 5038 Cot tage. . Four little friends enjoyed the games and refreshments with Kathleen. There was a big white cake decorated with red hearts and four red candles. Poole of this city, now at Key West, Fla., she tells of their trip across the continent with the Poole's house-trailer. They left here in September and spent two months m umo, Mr. jf ooie s native state, and from there went to Tampa, Fla. She writes of visiting the famous Bok Tower at Lake Wales while in Tampa, and of the chimes recital which lasted an hour, and is given each day at noon. The first of January Mr. and Mrs. Poole went to Key West, site of a large navy airbase and also a submarine base. They plan to be in New Orleans for the Mardi Gras the latter part of this month. It has been a wonderful vacation, she writes, but Oregon is still their prefer ence for a home. The Thursday contract t club met with Idoline Schupp of 534 North 10th on February 7. One guest attended, Helen Ander son, and she held high score in cards. Stella Dryden was second, and Clara McPherren received the traveling award. Sho wer Mrs. Charles Drew Jr., was complimented at a prettily ap pointed shower and bridge party given Tuesday evening when Mrs. Charlie Read entertained at her home in the Crystal Springs district.; The rooms were attractive with bowls of acacia and pink and blue bootees filled with spring flowers decked the man tle. Following bridge coffee was served and gifts presented to Mrs. Drew by Mrs. Eugene Potts, Mrs. Charles Perry, Mrs. William Colbert, Mrs. Russell Marshall, Mrs. Alfred Stroud, Mrs. Guy Barton and Mrs. Carrol Chase. In bridge Mrs. Perry held high score and Mrs. Barton was low. Members of the Lea cue of Women Voters will discuss leg islation at the meeting this next week on Wednesday at 2 p. m., HDrary clud rooms. Square Dancing At the meeting of the Business and Professional Women's club rn Monday evening, Februury 18, a Valentine party will bu enjoyed during the dinner hour at 6:30, followed by squurc dancing, Gwcn Evcritt, a new member of the club who came here from England to make her home the latter part of last year, is in charge of arrangements, assisted by members of the publications committee. Those who do not have stand ing reservations are requested to call Huttie Evans at 7354 if they plan to attend. Friendship Club Mrs. T. J.
