Dover said Oregon's republican administration has not solved veterans nousing ana Inh nmtalems. "For- four years," he stated, "you've heard that Oregon vet erans are not going to come back without homes and without Jobs. Now they're coming back and they are without homes ana wiuv out lobs." Firemen's Ball To Be Held At Molin MALIN, Feb. 8 The annual Malin Firemen's dance will be held Sunday in the Broadway dance hall with Pappy Gordon's Oregon Hillbillies furnishing the music. The firemen have been having quite a heated contest to see which side could sell the most tickets. Losers will entertain the winners with a party at Sari's. Proceeds from the dance will go toward purchasing a new fire truck for Malin. Tony Steyskal and Jerry Raj nus are captains of the ticket sales teams. Housewives Rush To Purchase Flour PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 8 (Ifi Moderate flour stocks on retail shelves melted today as house wives, alarmed by President Tru man s order lor mills to conserve wheat, rushed to buy all they could carry. One chain store spokesman, however, predicted weevils would SDoil hoarders' supplies. And B. R. Pooley, Crown Mills sales-manager, said no flour shortage would result if wheat continued to move from grower areas. The boxcar shortage already had prompted millers to carefully dole out stocks to dealers. Weother Eugene mi mam taut Sacramento Portland Reno Max. Mtn.
