4 SOCIETY By LOIS STEWART Lakeview Gir Weds In Medford LAKEVIEW The First Christian church of Medford was the scene of a wedding New Year's Eve at 12 o'clock when Dorothy Troxell, dtfughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Troxell of Medford, became the bride of RT 2c David Harbison, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Harbison of Lakeview. Rev. Delbert Daniels officiated. ' Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin with a beautiful full' length veil. She earned a shower bouquet of white carnations and nlnlc roiei. The maid of honor. Arlene Troxell, wore pink mar quisette and carried a small bou quet of carnations, chrysanthe mums and pink rosebuds. The bridesmaids, Katharine Gentner and Mrs. Mary-EUer, both of Medford, nad trocics 01 yeiiow marquisette and carried small bouquet. Flower girls were Mary Alice Harbison and Francis 'iroxeii. Best man was John Harbison, brother of the groom and ushers were Chief HM James tuer and ARM 3c Roy uameron. Jovce Sims sang "Because' and "Always," accompanied by Mn. Mable Sims at the piano. The church was beautifully dec orated with flowers and over zuu guests were present. A reception was given in the recreation Darlor of the church immediately following the wed ding. The bride and groom plan to be in Lakeview for a week and then Mrs. Harbison will accom- pany her husband - to beatue where he is stationed. S Shower Given Catherine Jackson, daughter of Mrs. Freda Jackson, was hon ored at a bridal shower in tne First Methodist church parlors, Saturday. The decorations are in charge of the arts and craft group of the USO. Attending will be the mem bers of the Venture club, junior hostesses, servicemen and their guesta. The Chicagoans will play. 8 ! ! Dancing Club The first oartv of the season for members of the Winter Danc ing club will be held Saturday evening, January 12, in the Wil lard hotel with dancing at 10 o'clock. Four dances are planned for the year and an exceptionally good attendance is expected Sat urday evening. Hosts are Mr. and Mrs. Lane Warren, Mr. and mrs. noy wnmatcn and Mr. and mrs. Robert p. Ellingson Jr, Girl Scouts ' On the calendar for Girl Scout activities this month are two im portant meetines. There will be an annual meet ing of the Girl Scout council Monday, Jan. 21, at the home of Mrs. R. H. Hadcliffe, 1420 Pa cific Terrace. Intermediate and senior Scout leaders will meet at the cham ber of commerce from 10 to n:au ociock, Thursday, Jan uary XI. : Farewell Tea The USO lounge will be the scene of a farewell tea for the Waves of the naval air station on Saturday, January 12, from 4 to 6 o'clock. The USO junior and senior hostesses sponsor a tea each week. This week's honor 'uests will be leaving Klamath Falls in mid-January. . , 5 Invitation Received - Invitations were in the mail this week to the wedding of Catherine, - daughter of Mrs. Freda Jackson, and George A. Wlnema club, Pythian Sisters, will meet Friday evening, Jan uary 11, in the library club rooms. All officers and mem bers are urged to attend. Myers of 2026 Applegate, is to report to Fort Lewis, Wash., Jan uary 8 for further orders. He ha been visiting friends in Aelao, Wash., for several days. Townsend Club The Townsend club met Tuesday, January 1, for a short business meeting and New Year's party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Myers, 500 N. 9th. Officers for the new year were installed. They are H. O. Myers, president; George Ran dall, first vice-president; Ed Cross, second vice president, and Berenice McCracken, secretary-treasurer. It was reported that dona tions of $10 each were given by the club to the National Tu berculosis association. Boys Town, and the American Le gion auxiliary for the Gifts for Yanks program. Cards were played after the meeting with prizes going to Rudolph Schiminesky, Earl Barnes, Berenice McCracken, and Mrs. Mary Martin. Present were Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Jerrue, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cross, Mr. and Mrs. R. Schim inesky, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mc Cracken, Mrs. Anna Brisboise, Mrs. Mary Martin, M. L. Miller, R. E. Edwards, Cleora Meade, Edward McCracken and Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Myers. The Townsend auxiliary met Wednesday, January 2, at the home of Mrs. Mary Martin, 2200 Wantland, for a 1 o'clock potluck luncheon and business meeting. Because of illness among members, election of of ficers was postponed until Jan uary 16. Silent Sister names were drawn for the new year. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Nettie Schim inesky, 3935 Homedale road. . v sX A 1) Zf: I THE WEDDING OF Maxine Haley,, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Haley of Malin, and Lt. Cmdr. Merle E. Bossart, USNR, will take place Saturday, January 19, in the Klamath Lutheran church at high noon. A reception will follow in the Pelican parry room. Betrothal Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Pope, 237 Jefferson, announce the forth coming marriage of their daugh ter, Bessie, to Edward C. Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Hall, 1604 Mitchell. The wedding will be held at the First Presbyterian church Sunday, January 27, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Miss Pope is a graduate of Klamath Union high school and the groom-to-be was graduated from Chlloquln high school. He has recently been discharged from the army air corps with the rank of corporal. He served four years and two months in the corps, much of that time spent in the European theater. He was discharged September 29, 1945. All graduate regents of the Women of the Moose will meet at Mildred Wilkinson's, 2334 Summers lane, Thursday at 7:30 p. m. Any visiting graduate re gents are welcome to attend.
