June uicKson is December Bride Before an altar banked with chrysanthemums and palms, June Dickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Dickson, became the bride of Harry L. Orcm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Orcm of Henley. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. David F. Barnctt in the First Presbyterian church Saturday December 22. before a large number of friends and relatives, The bride wore a gown of white lace and marquisette with long sleeves and train. Her finger-tip veil was of fine lace- trimmed net. She carried white earnntlnns The maid of honor was Bar bara Ann Dickson, sister or me bride. She wore a floor-length gown of blue lnce and marquis ette ana carriea a uuuyuui i vellow chrysanthemums The bride was given in mar riage by her father. Tne iram tional wedding marches were played and Carl Hagel sang "The Lords Prayer." Accom panying him was Mrs. George W. Mclntyre. Best man was Robert Grif- fith of Ashland, Ore., cousin of the bridegroom. Ushers were Paul Fairclo and Robert Norris. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Dickson chose a black and chartreuse frock with black ac cessories. Her corsage was of Talisman roses. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church where the young couple cut their wedding cake. Serving were Miss Marjorie Schultz of San Jose and Miss Nannette Schubert of Klamath Falls. Pouring were Mrs. Ernest Breithaupt and Mrs. E. xi. unman. The bride, a graduate of Klamath Union high school, is now attending the Southern Oregon College of Education. The bridegroom is a graduate of Henley high school and is in the naval reserve. He is serving on the .USS Block Island. COUPLE WED IN NEVADA Lillie Chilberg and Floyd E Mulligan were married Decem ber 22 in Reno, Nevada, and are now at home, 725 N. 11th street. Mulligan has returned from duty in Germany with the 932nd engineer maintenance company and received his honorable dis charge papers November 17. Honored Honoring the retiring secretary-treasurer of the Stmgerette club, Naomi Kecinicm, wno.n moving to Los Angeles soon members of the club met at the home of Mrs. R. L. Letha Home, Edna Jensen, Edna Jones, Fay Myers, Maude Phillips, Bess Stockdale, Irene Corrie, Aileen Kious, Rusty Ras- mussen and Naomi Kedmon, pi nochle was played during the af ternoon and Rusty Rasmussen held high score, Joannah Craver second, and Bess Stockade low. 56 tnons Meet The regular meeting of the Orions was held in the ladies parlors of the First Methodist cnurch Tuesday, JJecemoer 11 at 7:30 o'clock. Hostesses for the evening were the members of the losing side in the bazaar con test. The chairman was Mrs. T. J. O'Hara. A buffet supper was served by candlelight. The rooms were decorated in the traditional Christmas manner and the cen ter of interest was the large lighted Christmas tree. During the short business meeting, officers were elected for the ensuing year. They are president, Mrs. M. a. Melcnert; vice president, Mrs. George E Crakes; secretary, Mrs. G. C. Baxter; and treasurer, Mrs. D L. Snyder. A gift exchange was held af ter each member told the experi ence she remembered most vividly from her childhood Christmas and prizes were awarded to the most interesting. Comart. Soroptimist Club . Starts New Year Soroptimists started off the new year with initiation of two new members. Bee Bell and Muriel Garich. The impressive in itiation ceremony was read by Doris Peyton, assisted by Lillian Hillis. A welcome was given the new members by the club. Ida Odell read several letters of appreciation from the presi dent and members of the Brighton and Hove Soroptimist club in England to whom many packages and greetings had been sent by the Klamath Falls club. Lillian Hillis read a letter from Elizabeth Hawes, internation al liaison officer of Soroptimist ciuos in Europe, tnanKing the local club for the many gifts sent to Holland children. Miss Hawes stated that each gift had been handed out personally and men tioned particularly a Dair of shoes that went to a little girl who had had to leave school be cause she had no shoes to wear- not even wooden shoes. The local club is sending packages to Holland each month to help with the food and clothing problem there this winter. Rose Poole annealed to the club members to do all possible to lurtner plans lor a xmua in Klamath Falls, and the members pledged full support. President Kathleen stressed the fact that opportunities for service were legion, and now that tne war is over, we must be particular about attendance and miss no chance to prove to the community that we are a real service club. ' From Ashland Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zetzman of Ashland spent the holidays in Klamath Falls as houseguests at the Frank Eberlein home on Summers lane. Many of their friends entertained for them during their visit. The Zetzmans moved to Ash land last September after hav ing lived in Klamath county for 26 years. I 5 Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Hartin j were New Year s hosts to a group of relatives and friends at their home at 4667 Boardman. Cards were played and refresh ments were served in the early hours of the New Year. Gathering At the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Shelley in Langell Valley, 49 guests gathered for an old time party on New Year's Day. Honored at the party were Roy Flescher of Langell Valley, who celebrated his birthday an niversary that day, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Aiken of Newport who had just been married. Luncheon was served from a buffet in the dining room. Attending the affair were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson and children, Mr .and Mrs. Eddie Flescher and children, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Minnick and chil dren. G. Culdwoll, Mrs. P. 11, Home and Mrs. N. 13. Galu, hos tesses for the day. During the course of the bus iness meeting officers were elected for the coming year, Mrs. A. B. Guthrie und Mrs. J. J. Pex, president und vice president respectively, were re elected, and Mrs. K. L. Chaney will serve as secretary-treasurer. It was decided that rolls and but ter will bo furnished by the club for all luncheons and the hostesses will provide the hot dish. Mrs. R. L. Chancy and Mrs. M. D. Kious will bo the hostesses on January 24. The club is to sponsor n public curd party in the KC hall on January 10, and Mi's. A. B. Guthrie and Mrs. N. B. Gale will bo in charge of arrangements. Luncheon was served at 12:30 p. m. and the short business meeting was held about the table after luncheon. Officers elected for the coming year are Lizzie Little, president; Nona Hall, vice president; Kath ryn Billings, secretary-treasurer. Those present drew names for their Silent Sisters for 14. The next meeting will be with Pearl Marin, ond Lizzie Little will assist her. S Pinochle Club Ye Olde Pinochle club met Thursday, December 27, at the home of Agnaco Lowe of 2640 Homedale. and the hostess served the members and guests with a turkey dinner. There was also a Christmas tree. Two guests were present, Net tie Good and Esther Lowe. High score at pinochle went to Maggie Upton, second to Fannie God dard, low to Nettie Good and the pinochle award to Esther Adkisson who will be the hos tess on Thursday. January 10. at her home at 1536 Oregon. 5 5 Exchange Vows Helen Louise James, daughter of Mrs. Lydia James, 243 East Main, and Francis M. Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Douglas of Bay City, Ore., exchanged vows at the First Methodist church of Klamath Falls Satur day, December 22. The cere mony was read by Rev. Victor Phillips. Douglas was employed by the state highway department In Klamath Falls before entering the army in 1942 and was recent ly discharged. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas left the following week for Boy City to spend the holidays. They will make their home in Klamath Falls.
