A turkey dinner will be served in the banquet room at 6 p. m. to all post mem bers, the auxiliary, recruits and their families A short business meeting will be held by the post and the Christmas program will follow. Visiting Billy McCauley, formerly of this city and recently discharged from the united States army, has been here for several days on business. He will return to Portland to spend Unristmas with nis wife and young daughter Molly and they then plan to return here to make tneir home. . From Longriew Mr. and Mrs. Scott Milligan, (Elizabeth Graham), are here until Friday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Howard Graham of High street. The Milligans recently left Long view, Wash., en route east. They wil spend the holidays with Mrs. Milligan's mother, Mrs. Earl Barron of Carmel, Calif. Promoted Cpl. William T. Christiansen has just been pro moted to the rate of sergeant, ac cording to word received by his wife who is employed at Long's. Sgt. Christiansen who is now in Tokyo, has sent his wife several yards of Japanese silk. Horn in Klamath SSgt. Nick Maschetti is now released from service and is making his home in this city with his wife and two-year-old son. His parents-in-law are Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Lilly, 3803 Frieda. Office To Clot Robert L. Lauderdale, county FSA super visor, - courthouse, Klamath Falls,-' announces that the farm security office in the courthouse will be closed December 24 and December 31. In the future the .office will be open Mondays. Holidays Mary Louise Sex ton arrived Monday night from Eugene to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sexton, and Mary Cor rigan returned home Tuesday to be with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Corrigan. Both girts are students at the University of Oregon. . ' Resumes P o s 1 1 1 o n Mrs. James O'Keefe, who has been at Smith River, Calif., for the past several months, has re turned to Klamath Falls and re sumed her position in charge of the infant's department at Mont gomery Ward. O'Keefe also plans to return here to make his home after disposing of his lily bulb property on the coast At the present Mrs. O'Keefe is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Crapo. To Seattle Dr. and Mrs. Sam uel Enrhart and son Dean will leave Friday morning by motor for Seattle where they will spend Christmas with June Ear hart, student at the University of Washington. The day after Christmas, Dean will ' enter Swedish hospital for major surgery. He has been ill since a coasting accident last year. While Dean is in the hospital his parents will be at the Meaney hotel in Seattle. Office Closed The local of fice of internal revenue in the post office building will be closed December 22, 23, 24 and 25, and open December 26, 27, 28 and, 29. The office will then be closed December 30 and 31, and January 1, and it will then be open for business January 2. Reception A reception hon oring Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Wood, pioneer Klamath county residents, will be held at the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon, the affair observing the sixtieth wedding anniversary of the couple. Friends are In vited to call between the hours of 3 and 5 p. m, Expected Here George M. Long, s 1c, U. S. navy, is ex pected home Saturday to spend the Christmas holidays with his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Long, 815 N. 8th. George has a four day leave from radar school at Del Monte, Calif. Women of Moot The home making committee of the Wom en of the Moose will hold a pot luck luncheon in the hall, Friday at 12:30 p. m with Laura Brumble in charge. At 2 p. m., there will be a public card party in the hall. From School Helen Wong, daughter of Lee Wong of the Oriental cafe, is home from San Francisco for the holidays. She arrived Wednesday night. Pneumonia Mrs. Cecilc Law son of 1544 Summers lane is ill at Hillside hospital where she is being treated for pneumonia. Her sister and brother-in-law accompanied her from Kan sas to Rochester, and they will remain with her for several days. Forestry to Cloa The U. S. forestry office, post office build ing, will close from Saturday to Tuesday, inclusive, for the Christmas holidays and the fol lowing Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for New Year's. It will bo open December 29 mid Janu ary 5 to make up this time. ChriitmM Vacation Dorotliy Currier arrived at her home on N. 3rd yesterday from the Uni versity of Oregon for a Christ mas vacation. She Is a junior at Oregon and will have to curtail her visit here to return to school early to help with physical edu cation registration.
