Problems Of Oregon
Farmers Discussed
CORVALLTS. Dec. 13 (VP)
Postwar problems of Oregon
farmers, who depend on out-of-state
markets for every major
crop except hogs and sweet clo
ver seed, are being mulled at the
annual conference of agricultur
al and home economics workers
at Oregon State college.
E. L. Potter, chief of the col
lege division of agricultural eco
nomics, told the group domestic
and foreign surpluses might tend
to depress prices oeiow produc
tion costs.
"Oregon farmers are particu
larly affected by such surpluses"
he said, "because the state de
pends on out-of-state markets."
The annual conference opened
Tuesday and will end tomorrow.
