ID EMPIRE IWS Lanqell Valley LANGELL VALLEY Lt. and Mm. Bob Sealer spent the past 10 days In Seattle visiting relatives and friends. Lt. Scater left Monday by plane lor AlasKa to visit his mother etnd father, whom ho hasn't seen for five years. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Conley have sold their ranch to Mr. and , Mrs. Buster Adamson of Klam ath Falls. They plan to leave in a few weeks to look for a new home. Their daughter Mrs. Harold Cox and children will return to their home in Klamath Falls to live. Mrs. Mary Leidy spent Mon- day in Klamath Falls visiting relatives. Mrs. Anna Gift of Oakland, is visiting her son Lloyd Gift and family. Mrs. Johnnie Campbell and new daughter Sandra Kay ar rived home on Wednesday from Hillside hospital. Mrs. Clay Walker and her sister, Mrs. Kittredge, left for Seattle to visit their sister. Clara Rittcr and Cloe Brad ley were home from Corvallis lor tne weeKcna. Dick Pepple is home on a 15 day leave from the navy to visit with his parents Mr, and Mrs. Owen Pepple and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Mike Dearborn enter tained with a dinner Thursday in honor of her son Mark on his birthday. Guests were Mrs. Mary Dearborn, Mrs. Reginald Thomas and Margaret Jane, Mrs. Lester Leavitt, Allan Rich ards, Henry Dearborn and Mark. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Walker spent several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Walker. Glen was recently discharged from the navy, after several years in the South Paci fic. : Buck Boley arrived recently from England and has received his discharge from the army. He is in Klamath Falls with his wife, the former Madge Fitz hugh. ; Mrs. Claude Murray spent several days last week visiting friends on the coast. Mr. . and Mrs. Walter Foote and - son- of Henley visited friends in Langell valley on Friday. i Doris Leavitt . spent several days at Bonanza with her grand mother, Mrs. Mary Dearborn. i Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lubbes of Newburg visited their daughter last week, Mrs. Walt Wilson, also their son Lloyd Lubbes at Malin. Other visitors at the Wilson home were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wirfs and daughter of McMinnville, - Ed Miller of Grants Pass, Bob Phipps of Portland and. Oscar Harper of Coos Bay. Summit Residents e Big Snowfall CASCADE SUMMIT. Ore., Nov. 8 An early snowstorm swept over the high Cascades and deposited 12 inches of snow at the summit. Whether the snow will stay on the ground for the winter is a question which is being discussed greatly by the natives here. In 1935 a snowstorm on October 20, left a blanket of snow and bare ground was not again seen until la May of the next year. Mrs. Emil Wells and daughter were shoppers in Klamath Falls from here Saturday Lucia Webber and Freda Hope were shoppers in Klamath Falls Wednesday, from Poe valley, as were Warren Moore, Bo Tucker and the Donald Roberts family. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nork and sons, Benny and Douglas, were visitors in the valley Sunday from Shasta way. Warren and Arbee Roberts and John Nork attended a movie in Klamath Falls Sunday night. Among shoppers in Klamath Falls from here Saturday were Clarence Webber, the Bo Tucker and Haines families and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nork. Clarence Webber went to Bly Friday to see Web Van Meter who is working up there. A Halloween party was held at the Community hall Wednes day night for local children. Games were played and a good time was had by all present. A fine social was held at the hall here Saturday night. Lillian Reiling is reported to be improving, after a recent bout with the flu. Cascade Mr. and Mrs. Ben I. Benson and children left here for Sum mit, Ore., where they will make their home. Benson was section foreman here for the past year and a half. He will work in the same capacity at Summit, which is on a branch line extending from Albany to Yaquina. Mrs. Annette Hoods. Southern Pacific telegrapher here, is tak ing a month's leave and is on an extended trip which will take ner to Minneapolis and St. Louis. Edward E. Knowles returned to his former position here as telegrapher for the Southern Pacific company after spending the summer as relief disDatcher in Portland and Eugene. He was only here a few days though when he was again called to Portland as relief dispatcher. Dorothy Hukill of Arizona -is taking his place here. Mr. aim Mrs. James Foag and son, Johnnie, motored to Salem Saturday evening to visit rela tives. On their return trip snow had fallen and just before they reached home the steering ap paratus oi tne car Drone, i ortu nately Foag was able to stop the car Before an accident occurred. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lee have moved from Cascade Summit to McCredie Springs. Lee is pow der gang foreman for the South em Pacific company. The Lee gang of about 12 men has been stationed at Cascade Summit for the past two months where it has been removing rocks from the right-of-way. Summit Lodge has closed its doors to the public for the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Hall re port a very good season. A. U. Naeel is opening his trap line for the winter. Nagel came here in the winter, of 1928 to regain his health and has re mained to trap each winter since except lor one winter spent in defense work. Alturos Schedules Two-Day Rodeo ALTURAS At meeting of the Round-up association held hero this week, it was decided to hold a two-day rodeo in this city. The dates set, August IB and 20. Mack Burbour of Klamath Falls, who staged the show hero this year, will return with his string of bucking horses and brahmn bulls and will stage the complete round-up program, Dimclng on the two nights will be held on an open air plat form, a carnival and a parade to include floats from all sections of tho county, will be special attractions.
