I wont to sleep soon ufter the

among the seven dead returned
aboard the escort carrier Lusa

I found ono for her.
The plane made a very rough
landing, part of the tall was
knocked off and tho plane seem

Its nose, I'm afraid those In the
back part may have been hurlod
against the front of tho plane and

Because It was my first plane

while tho others who had plnne
experience knew the difficulty

Couldn't Swim
Water lifted the plane up and
the colonel called to me to come

can't swim, and the water was
ruthina up.
Tho colonel went down In the
water and after that I didn't see
the Wac. About that timo there
was lots of screaming.
I didn't remember much after
that until I was in the raft with
Patrick. I couldn t move my
legs then, but all that seems
wrong now is my back and
pain In tho pelvic region. When
I wns feeling to sec If I was

found It in my vest and felt

We were In the raft about ten
hours before tho destroyer es

my mouth. I wus placed on a

In tho entire northwest urea, In
cluding tho Klumuth district.
End of the harvest season In
the Klumuth urea has hud no ef
fect upon the county welfare of
fice, Allhu Urquhort, welfare di
rector sold today, und the office
has hud no applications for relief
from employable persons In sev
eral month,
Annnrcntly not so many mi-
grunt workers followed the har
vest hero this yenr, most of the
picking being done by local
workers and professional har
vest hands, who make enough
money to support themselves
und be able to move from Job to
Job without outside aid.
However, applications for aid
to uncmploynblcs continue to
come in and this month's budget
for old age assistance and assist
ance for dependent children is
slightly higher than for Novem
ber lost year.
The $40 monthly ceiling on
grants to needy cases was lifted
by legislation which went into
effect in June, but grants con
tinue to be based on individual
need.
The budgeted Increase In old
age assistance from $8400 Inst
November to $8025 for this
month. Is not duo to an increase
in the number of cases cared for
but to increased cost of individ
ual cases and increased living
costs, Mrs. Urquhort said.
