Further talks be tween the groups were set for tomorrow, but the National Fedcation of Toilers, a workers' organization, strongly denounc ed the communist suggestion at the first toilers' mass meeting since the surrender1 Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shlgeru Yoshida told his first press conference the chief task of Premier Kijuro Shidehara's cabinet was to carry out terms of the Potsdam conference as smoothly and as rapidly as pos sible "to demonstrate our good faith through deeds." Oppose Cabinet Communist Leaders Yoshio Shiga, Shigeo Kamiyama and Ichizo Matsumoto called at the office of the Japan socialist party and formally asked the party to Join in opposing the cabinet. The communists and the socialists once were bitter poli tical foes, but Shiga expressed belief that the groups could cooperate In a "unified single trade union." The toilers drew a capacity audience at their first mass meeting. After four of their leaders attacked the communist plan for one-front opposition to Shidehara. they affirmed sup port of the imperial institution, snid Dome! agency. Dome! called the meeting notable for "its open denuncia tion of communism in the face of growing communist activi ties."
