Parents visited the various
rooms nnd met the teachers, and
then went to tho auditorium for
a short business meeting and mu
sical program. The flag salute
was led by Benny Shepherd, fol
lowed by the singing of "Amer
ica," led by Mrs. Hunt. Mrs. Fos
ter guve tlie welcoming address
and introduced the PTA presi
dent. Mrs. M. F. Shrccvo, who
conducted the meeting. The
treasurer, Mrs. J. D. Muttcson,
announced a totul of $237.80 at
the lust stnmp sale. The member
ship chairman, Mrs. A, Fcoco,
announced the closing of the
membership drive contest with
305 paid members.
Mrs. Griffith's room won the
prize In tho lower grades, and
Mrs. French and Mrs. Walker
tied In the upper grades. Twelve
members subscribed to the Na
tional Parent-Teacher magazine,
which won the blue award for
the organization. The children's
activities chairman, Mrs. Frank
Lambo, announced four Brownie
troops and two Girl Scout troops
had been organized. The room
call was won by Mrs. Elliott's
second grade room, with 22 par
ents present. It was decided to
take tho rcdccoratlon of the
teachers' room as a project for
the year and Mrs. Ray Brolller
wus appointed chalrmun of the
committee with Mrs. G. E. Mat
thews, Mrs. Russell and Mrs. El
liott as assistants,
