At 10:30 a. m., Miriam Smith began a new scries of lessons. Her subject was "The Divine Fatherhood." At noon there was a sack lunch, followed by a meeting of the executive board, and at 1:40 Mrs. John Yadon conducted the prayer circle. Tho general meeting at 2 p. m was in charge of Mrs. Eurl Rcdmun, president, and Mrs. Walter Hcrndon led tho devotions. The theme for tho day was "Worship" and Mrs. Juanlta Molchcrt sung a hymn In key with the theme. Mrs. Redman appointed Mrs. J. D. Gilllsblc chairman of the moguzinc work in lieu of Mrs. J. H. Blake who Is leaving the city. Plans were continued tor the rummage sale to be held soon, probably the second week in October, and Mrs. John Yadon reported upon the sum mer school held In Forest Grove. There is to be a con ference In Albany, October 17 and IB, and tho week of prayer has been set for October 25-31. It was announced that the circles will take "Tho Cross Over Africa" as their next book for study. Mrs. L. K. Phelps, program chairman, Introduced Dr. Rlggs, professor of education at Wil lamctto university, who is con ducting a survey for the YMCA In Klamulh Fulls. He spoke upon tho general recreation pro gram here. Mrs. E. J. Schnee- beck and Mrs. W. L. Tcrwilll ger sang two duets, "All Alone' by Austin Wilde and "Ivory Towers" and tea was then serv ed by circle 3. whose chair man is Mrs. Wesley McNce. An arrangement of ' fall flowers centered the tea toble and Mrs. Eurl Redman presided. ' Auxiliary The Eagles auxiliary held a regular meeting Tuesday eve ning, September 25, ana in itiated nine candidates. An other meeting was held Tues day, October 2, and after the meeting refreshments wore served und pinochle played until a late hour. There will be no meeting Tuesday, October 9, but a regu lar meeting will be held Fri day evening In tho upper FOE hall with all past madam presi dents conducting. There will be a practice Wed nesday at 7:30 p. m. for all past madam presidents and all auxiliary members who will be in the drill team. Any officer who is not a past madam presi dent can also be in the drill and acting captain, Stella Per seli, would like all to be pres ent. 5 LANG ELL VALLEY Mrs. Harry Frazier entertained at her home Wednesday afternoon with a stork shower In honor of Mrs. Scotty Ross. The many gifts were piled on a lace cov ered table and pastel colored flowers decorated the room. Contests were enjoyed with Mrs. F. W. Brown the winner. Coffee was served following the opening of the gifts. Guests were Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Claudia Mustek, Mrs. F. W. Lost River Club MERRILL Mrs. Frank Adams was hostess to the Lost River Garden club for the Sep tember meeting. The guest speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. F. O. Small, Klamath Falls, who gave an interesting and informative talk on how seeds are distributed by ani mals, water and wind. She had also an unusual display of wild flowers and poisonous weeds. The club voted to enter a float In the Merrill festival par ade and Mrs. John Degnan was appointed by the president, Mrs. J. R. Blatch to serve as chair man. Mrs. Hugh O'Connor was asked to be responsible for flower arrangements for the banquet tables. Mrs. Scott McKcndree, chair man of the garden produce sale held last month, reported -that $53.33 was taken in and this will be Riven to the Red Cross. The seeds for overseas project sponsored by the club received $24.62 and a collection of seeds valued at $20 was acknowledg ed. Members who answered roll call were Mrs. Scott McKendree, Mrs. O. T. McKendree, Mrs. Hugh O'Connor, Mrs. C. E. Sharp. Mrs. W. C. Bailey, Mrs. J. R. Blatch, Mrs. N. H. Bogue, Mrs. Mattie Rassmussen, Mrs. Dale West, Mrs. Virgil Rexford, Mrs. Jess Dieter and Mrs. Adams, The Delta Gamma chapter of Delphians will meet Tuesday at 9:45 a. m., at the home of Mrs. Don Zumwalt, 435 N. 2nd. A program honoring members with 35 or more years of mem bership In Neighbors of Wood craft was held Monday evening, October 1, in the KC hall. There was a song by Patsy and Paula Ann Clark. "Let Me Call You Sweetheart," musical num ber "August Days," by Louise Bcrnhart at tho piano und Ethelmae Skinner with her vio lin; Ethelmae Skinner also sang "This Is What We're Fighting For" with Louise Barnhart play ing her accompaniment. The captain of the guards then escorted the honored mem bers to the campfire and pre sented each with a 35-year pin and a corsage from the circle. At the same time Patsy Ruth Miller gave a welcoming recita tion dedicated to these pioneer members,' and Leola Thompson sang, to her own accompani ment, "In The Long Long Ago." Dlcksy Weed gave a reading and Harriet Lavenik, Darlene Smith and Nora Keene sang. There was a reading by Susan Gains, "The Highwayman" and Darlene Smith, Harriet Lavenik and Nora Keene sang "Cuddle Up a Little Closer." The guests were then Invited Into the dining room where re freshments were served from tables beautifully decorated in blue and yellow, by a commit tee headed tjy Stella oryaen and Alta Clark. The honored guests were Cora Sanderson Viola Leever, Nellie Maeklin, Elizabeth Lewis, Stella Dryden, Laura Black, Henry Brown Flora Alice Harris, Anna Mc Donald, Effie Rcdkey, Floyd White.
