PURCHASER y EVICT TENANTS AFTER 3 MONTHS The new amendment 67 to rent regulations, requiring a six months waiting period by new purchaser of property before evicting a tenant for own occu pancy, will not be effective in this area, Marvin D. Hixon, area rent representative, stated today. The application of the new rul ing was optional by the director in each rental area, and it was ruled that the existing three months waiting period Is ade quate for the Klamath Falls area at this time, Hlxon added. Under the existing regulations In effect in this area, before evic tion proceedings can be started, the purchaser must file an affi davit with the area rent office stating that at least 20 per cent of the total purchase price has been paid and that he intends to occupy premises for his own oc cupancy. If these conditions are met, an eviction certificate will bo granted allowing an eviction after thrco months from the date of filing with the area rent of fice, Hixon pointed out. A por tion of the down-payment and waiting period requirements will bo waived In cases of purchases by returning war veterans. In all cases of eviction, writ ten notices to the tenants are re quired and all evictions must be cleared through the area rent of fice before eviction proceedings can commence.
