Vcr Bryck, 37, was sentenced to a term in tho Ore gon stuto penitentiary not to ex ceed five years by Judge Van denberg after Vcr Bryck had pleaded guilty to obtaining money under false pretenses. Ho allegedly passed a check in the sum of $00 to Mrs. M. Dunkmyer of Merrill on August 4 with the knowledge that there wore Insufficient funds in the bunk to cover the check. Ver Bryck has a previous criminal record. Billlo S. Gillespie, 26, was placed on probation for four years by Judge Vandcnberg after he had pleaded guilty earlier to a charge of forgery. Probation was granted with the understanding that Gillespie would abstain from all alcoholic beverages. He allegedly Dasscd a forced check on Dick Rceder in the amount of 580.93 on August 7.
