many. Mrs". Clare Sheridan of Min
neapolis has announced the en
gagement of her daughter Eliz
abeth Lorraine to Sgt. Staub,
son of George D. Staub of Port
land. Sgt. Staub left Klamath Falls
with the national guard unit
for Fort Stevens. After war was
declared he was transferred to
a railroad division. He has been
stationed at Clovls, N. M., and
at Minneapolis, where he met
Miss Sheridan.
Ho has spent over two years
in England, France and Ger
many and expects to be home
soon.

s Recent Bride
Lorena Sue Ferguson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy M.
Ferguson of Gilchrist, became the bride of Dr. Ernst J. Dornfield,
son of Rev. and Mrs. E. P. Dornfield of Milwaukie, Wis., at a
double ring ceremony on August 18 at 4 o'clock in the Gilchrist
Community church. Rev. John Morangc officiated.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore
the traditional while satin with a fingertip veil of illusion net
falling from a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried an
arm bouquet of orchids and step-
hanotis.
Jeanne Bassctt of Albany was
the bride's only attendant and
David G. Whitlock of Portland
was the best man. Miss Bassett
wore a dress of aqua blue satin
and net with a matching veil of
net. She carried a bouquet of
pink roses and carnations.

Wells was ring bearer. Mary
Glynnc wore a long dress of
yellow chiffon and carried a
white basket filled with pink
rose petals.

Mrs. Dornfield attended Ore
gon State college. Dr. Dorn
field received his B. S. and M. A.
degrees from Marquette uni
versity and his PhD from the
University of Wisconsin in 1937.
Dr. and Mrs. Dornfield left
after their wedding for a visit to
Victoria, B. C. and on their re
turn about September 8, they
will be at home in Corvallis
where Dr. Dornfield is assistant
professor of zoology at Oregon
State college.

At Barnes Hospital
A Wac mother and her Cadet
Nurse daughter, both of Klamath
Falls, are together at Barnes
General hospital in Vancouver,
Wash.
Mrs. Elizabeth G Sanders took
her training with the Wac at Ft.
Dcs Moines, la. For a while
Mrs. Sanders, a sergeant, was
stationed with the recruiting of
fice in Portland and was able
to be near her daughter, Betty
Jane, who had entered the cadet
nurse corps in 1942.
Now, however, the two are
both stationed at Barnes and
are able to be together again.
Sgt. Sanders is with the medical
detachment and her daughter is
with tho cadet nurses.

Alumni banquet
Wednesday Event
An opportunity to compare
old times was furnished to alumni of Klamath Union high school
when a large group met a,t a dinner this past Wednesday evening
at the Willard hotel.
The group met for a get-together and dinner In the main
banquet room of the hotel. Special guests were servicemen home
on furloughs and leaves. The affair was planned and directed
by Mildred Williams, a graduate of KUHS with the clan of

luncheon on Wednesday after
noon at the bachelor officers'
quarters at the naval air sta
tion. Mrs. L. A. Peterson was elect

group and assisting her dur

as secretary . and Mrs. W. E.
Glidewell as treasurer.
Plans were made for the
group to meet on Thursday,
August 30, at the station to
work on USO scrapbooks. Mem
bers are urged to be there.

nesday bridge was played with
prizes for the afternoon going
to Mrs. J. S. Lynche Jr., and
Mrs. J. D. Jordan.

Coxswain Mitchel is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mitchel
of Owens street in Klamath
Falls and the new Mrs. Mitchel
has been a resident of Hager
for the past year.

the best man was Clyde Ram
sey, both of Klamath Falls.
