Although at least 29 per cent
more people have already or
dered their winter's fuel as com
pared with last summer, fuel
dealers fear that there will be a
serious shortage of fuel this win
ter if people will not accept the
type of fuel now available.
Orders for block and slab
wood are being refused by most
fuel yards as they are unable to
fill ell the orders now on hand,
block shipments from the mills
being 20 per cent or more under
prewar shipments.
Fuel dealers are advising
townspeople to reconvert to coal
or pres-to-logs wherever possi
ble to insure proper heating for
the coming winter. Although the
coal situation at present Is not
serious, dealers feci that people
should order their winter supply
now while coal is still available.
