She has sunk one submarine and Is credited with the probable sinking of another. She has rescued more than 1000 survivors from five stricken ships, five planes and a subma rine. Leeling of 621 N. 11th. a member of the 780th army transportation corps base depot, finds his work at a large redeployment port in the Normandy base section to be as urgent and important since the cessation of hostilities as it was prior to tho war's end.- The port, which a few weeks ago was handling a steady flow of Incoming supplies destined lor our armies inside Oermany, is now handling material going out of Europe under the rede ployment plan. This material, no longer of use In Europe, is be ing shifted through this port to other theaters of operation to aid in final victory over Japan. Jacobs, Malcolm and Burtt, large produce firm of San Fran cisco, is building a large double deck warehouse and Troy V. Cook, local produce dealer, is constructing a sorting shed at Malin on Great Northern prop erty. The El Bee Potato company is, also erecting a large spud sorting shed there. Construction of these new fa cilities is nearing completion and they will be ready for handling the new season's potato crop. The Sharp Grain company, a new firm under the management of C. E. Sharp, who was former ly connected wan the Merrill Mills, is building a large grain warehouse on Great Northern property at Merrill. Shuck Brothers are alsa constructing a commodious tile warehouse at Merrill on Great Northern prop erty.
