Zamzow has directed the band on its tours through Ore gon and parta of California in connection with tho 5th, 6th and 7th War Loan drivea, as well as making appearances in Klamath Falls. Leaving with him this week for Mirimar are four other member of the band, Sgt. Jack Wattlcf, trumpet player; SSgt. Bill Cunningham, base viol; Sgt. Charles Sander, trombone, and SSgt. Bob Pritchard, french horn. Tech. Sgt. Jim Kenney, drum major and saxophone filayer with the band, is leav ng at the same time to report to Camp Pendleton. Sgt. Zamzow returned to the United States In March, 1044, after having seen action on Guadalcanal and Bougainville. He was also stationed at New Hebrides, New Caledonia and Samoa. For three months after returning to this country, he was stationed at San Diego and vhile there was in charge of the field band. He reported for duty at the Klamath Falls Ma rine Barracks on June 28, 1944.
