Festivities began at 7 o'clock Saturday evening when 80 friends called to celebrate the occasion, and friends from II stales were represented at this time. T 'Y' Denver Wedding Word has been received here al the marriage of Jcromenina Munsch of Denver, Colo., to Malvern D. Alcorn of Klamath Falls, In a ceremony which took place at the Fitzsimmons post chapel at Denver on Satur day, June 9.- Mr. Alcorn was honorably discharged recently from the army air corps, in which he held the rank of staff sergeant. He and Miss Munsch became acquainted when he was sta tioned in Denver. He is the son of Mrs. A. T. Hoffman of Klamath Falls, and is a grad uate of the Bly high school. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W, Beiker of the Colorado city. Cpt. Hogan of Fitzsimmons, an army chaplain, ' performed tho ceremony. Marie Munsch of Denver was the maid of honor, and Paul Zayach of Day ton, Ohio., stood as best man for the groom. Mr. Beiker gave his daughter in marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Alcorn will re main in Colorado through July, returning to Klamath Falls in August. Service Wives The Service Wives' club met In the new women's lounge of the USO on Eleventh and Wal nut on Thursday, June 21, at 8 p. m. Plans for publicity and future programs were discussed. The . members are interested in serving and decorating the new building. Plans for the recent meeting on Thursday, June 28 were discussed, and it jwas decided to have a game night. This group is composed of both local women and service wives from many various states whose hus bands are stationed at one of the local military installations at the present time. . All service wives are urged to remember that they are wel come to attend all USO activ ities, and that their husbands will find much to interest them at the new club. Children, too, will receive a "royal welcome." It was decided to have a kid dies' party within the near fu ture. The club meets on Mondays at 1:30 p. m. and on Thursday evenings at 8 o'clock. Lucille Montgomery and daughter Terry, arrived on Tues day of this week from southern California for a visit with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lawrence K. Williams. Mrs. Williams plans to return to Mills college in Oak land, Calif., for special' study, and Mrs. Montgomery will visit her family here for a few weeks before returning to her home. Saxophone solos were given by Eldon Tracy,- who June Wedding A marriage of Interest to resi dent of Malln was solemnized at Las Vegas, Nev., on Sunday evening, June 17, when Mari nella Middleton of Houston, Tex., became the bride of Cpl. Harry Hundley, on of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hundley of Malin. The ceremony was performed in the pastorate of the First Bap tist church. Cpl. Hundley is a graduate of the Malin high school, and at tended Oregon State college and the University of Oregon. He was enlisted in the army air corps in August, 1943, and met hi bride at Pine Bluff, Ark., when he was stationed at Grider field near that city. Hunt, son of Dr. and Mrs. Warren Hunt. He arrived here on Monday evening from Madison, Wis., where he has been . surgical resident st the State of Wisconsin General hos pital. Dr. Hunt plans to remain here for the week, alter which he will report to Carlisle Bar racks. Pa.. Military Wedding Meld At Merrill MERRILL At a military wedding in the Merrill Presbyterian church Thursday night, June 28, Velma Jean Bowman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bowman, became the bride of Cpl. William M. McClannahan, U. S. army, stationed at Camp Tule lake. The groom is formerly of Tacoma. ' The single ring service was read at 7 o'clock by Dr. David J. Ferguson in the presence of 50 relatives and friends of the young couple. The vows were taken before an altar banked with pink and white carnations and tall white tapers in can delabra. Preceding the ceremony, Esther Morton, Malin, sang "O Promise Me" and "Ah, Swet Mystery of Life." The wedding marches were played by Mrs, Lawrence Geragherty. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a tip-tpe length gown ot slipper satin with half train, made with a sweetheart neckline. Her finger tip veil of silk net was caught about her head with a halo of seed pearls and she wore a sin gle strand of pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and gardenias. Mrs. Eugene Beasley, sister of the bride, was her matron of honor. Her gown was ot pink silk net over taffeta and her flowers were pink and white sweet peas. Sgt. Walter Rathmacher was best man, and the ushers were Cpls. Barrow and Fleck, U. S. army.
