A.igell (Ore.) said today he has obtained a promise that the house special agriculture committee will hold hearings in Oregon when the state's pro ducts are Involved. Angcll said Rep. Clinton P. Anderson, chairman, had tele graphed him from Omaha, Neb., that the committee had been re stricted In traveling by airline firiority. Angell had protested he committee's failure to visit Oregon. McKim, President Truman's chief administrative assistant, to become a deputy federal loan administrator. Press Secretary Charles G. Ross told his news conference he did not know who would re place McKim in his job as $10,000-a-ycur chief administra tive assistant, nor what Mc Klm'g salary would be in his new post. McKim, one of the men who accomnanicd the nrcsident when he campaigned for the vice presi dency last lull, is on leave irom his post as an executive of an insurance company nt Omnha. The object of the committee will be a cleaner business dis trict, with dirt and debris re moved from downtown streets and sidewalks knot free of trash. Downtown streets have gotten into the present condition, it was pointed out at the meeting, with only two men left on the street department crew,' trying to handle ull the cleaning of streets and maintenance of side walks and curbs. S. A. Itose was appointed chairman of the Klamath com mittee. A general meeting of retail ers was uiFcuE.sed yesterday, and it was decided that fall would be thn best time to hold such a meeting. Early September was the tentative date decided upon. SP T Robert J. La Crosse, Southern Pacific brakeman of Dunsmuir, Calif., was seriously Injured Sunday, when he was accident ally run over by a helper en gine near Mt. Hebron, Calif. La Crosse was walking over the railroad tracks at the rear of the engine at the time the ac cident occurred. Injuries re sulted in the loss of an arm and the fineers of his other hand. Details of the accident are not known. La Crosse was immediately taKcn to Dorrls lor emergency treatment in a truck driven by Lloyd Stevenson of Mt.
