In addition to specialist schools at the training centers, Wacs attend army schools where they study with enlisted men, and also receive "on tho Job" training at many posts. Miss Rutledge has been as signed to Camp Miles Stand is h at Taunton, Mass. SSgt. Donntd Rnlliff. son of Mr and Mrs. J. R. Ratliff of Ma lin, recently has been presented his third Oak Leaf Cluster to his Air Medal. He is a nose gunner aboard a 13th AAF B-24 Liberat or of the Bomber Barons in the Philippines. This award was for notewor thy achievements while partic ipating in many bombing mis sions against Jap shore installa tions, airdromes and shipping in the South and Southwest Pacific and the Philippine area. Sgt. Ratliff entered the armed forces in September of 1942, re ceived his AAF training in the states before Joining the "Jungle Air Force" in May of 1D44. He attended Oregon State col lege at Corvallis prior to Joining the service. The 26-year-old airman attended nigh school In Yreka. Calif.. where he was actlvo on tho bas ketball, baseball and track teams. Harvey Reld of Klamath Falls Is now on duty at the shin repair unit at the naval repair base In new urieans, L.a. Reld, who is a carpenter's mate first class, entered the navy in August ot 1U44, and chose the ship repair unit branch of the navy as he wished to follow his former trade. Prior to entering the service he was employed as a carpenter for the United States naval dry docks at San Fran dsco. Ship repair units are made up or amplifiers, metaismitns, eioc trlcians. machinists, carpenters and other craftsmen. At forward bases and afloat, they repair damage to ships duo to enemy action or other causes and keep them lit lor corneal. Reld's wife, Mrs. Laura Mae Reld, resides In this city. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C M. Hold of 320 11th In Klamath Falls. Second Lt. Lester V. Wilson of Bremerton, Wash., has been selected for four-engine bomber pilot training, and has trans- erred to 1110 Liberal army air field at Liberal. Kan., for in struction In flying Liberator bombers. Ho is tha son ot Mr, and Mrs. P. B Wilson. Lt. Wilson will receive 15 weeks of Intenslvo training at this southwest Kansas installa tion of the central flying com mand and. upon graduation, will receive the rating of airplano commander.
