Miss Doran. who sang The World Is Waiting For the Sunrise," also appeared in sev eral choral numbers. Enrolled In the teachers' training course, she has made a high scholastic avorage, even while carrying on her extra curricula work with the choir. This is the second appearance of the choir, under the direc tion of Roy Laney, a member of tho speech department. The first program was given during the week of commencement. District president, Ella Mul 11ns, installed Mrs. William Bar ron as patriotic instructor and Mrs. Jennie Sevcik gave an in teresting account of her daughter-in-law's experiences in a Japanese prison camp. , Mrs. A. A. Myers, hospital chairman, re ported upon her work at the marine dispensary, and a letter of thanks was read from J. E. Foley, USO director, expressing appreciation for the case of eggs which the auxiliary pro vides each week. Mrs. J. H. Carnahan report ed upon the district meeting held early in May at Grants Pass, and Ella Mullins reported upon the department and coun cil meeting in Portland. Mrs. Carnahan was appointed chair man, of Poppy Day, May 25. The new member, Maude Close, received the special award, and after the meeting Ihe -auxiliary went to the KC hall. The next meeting will be held on June 7, and a class of candidates will be initiated at this time.
