Asserting that there are few college towns where veterans can house themselves and their families for less than S50 or S60 a month, Morse declared that "the educational facilities pro vided by the GI bill will be valueless because the sum pro vided for this purpose ($7S a month) will leave little for tui tion and other college expenses." Within 12 months, the army expects to have out of Europe 3.100.000 troops, leaving only an occupation force, estimated at 400,000.
