At that time the senior circle held a short busi ness meeting and the committees for the rummage sale were ap pointed. Us, vice grand, opened the meeting. As this was past noble grand night, Laura Uerlings, past noble grand, act ed as noble grand and other oast noble grands filled the other chairs. Two solos were sung by Kath- erine Blanas, and the refresh ments were arranged by the so cial club, with Lucille Heller, Stella Dryden and Ora Sweet serving. There will be initiation members at the next meeting on May 3. 5 5 5 Anniversary The twenty-first anniversary of the organization of the Jolly Neighbors was observed at the home of Mrs. B. H. Hull, 4626 Cannon avenue, with Mrs. Al bert Pollard as the assisting host ess, uessert was served at z o'clock, at which time the presi dent. Mrs. Joe Abner. cut the decorated birthday cake. Five dollars was donated to the Red Cross fund, and it was decided to sell the baby gar ment recently turned In, in order to have funds for other charities. The club members have been making these clothes for the past year for war relief. Those present for the occasion were Mrs. E. G. Meet Held The April meeting of the Rail road Employes National Pension club was held on Monday eve ning, April 16, at the home of S. H. Goddard of 2441 Garden, and the president, John Prince, conducted the meeting. Stress was laid upon the need for an in crease in membership if the pen sion bill at present before con gress is to have adequate sup port. The meeting on Monday, May' 21, will be at the home of E. L. Mitchell, 817 East Main. Catholic Daughters of Amer ica met and attended commun ion In a body at the eight o'clock mass on Sunday, April 22, after which breakfast was narveri tn 74 members and candidates at tne wiuard hotel. The Reverend T. P. Casey led the prayer and also gave an Interesting talk. Phyllis Mahoncy, grand regent, welcomed the group, and Mil dred Smith and Florence Pic kett were also speakers. Initiation was held In the American Legion hall and the following members exemplified the degree work: Mildred Smith, Phyllis Mahoney, Florence Pic kett, Lenore Gallagher, Ellen Ely, Emllie Miller, Ethel Brun ner. The new members were wel comed by Grand Regent Phyllis Mahoney and others who spoke to the class were Mildred Smith, Lenore Gallagher, Agnes La Londe, Eleanor Fitzslmmons, Margaret Solie, Livia Bocchl, Mary Joan Schnabel and Rose Igl, the latter a charter member of Court Klamath. Luncheon was served under the leadership of Ella Lesmelst er, assisted by Katherlne Ma guire, Ethel Falrall, Elizabeth Brandsness, Loretta Druecker, Clara Beard and Marion Cron on. and Father John Phelan gave an inspiring address during the course of the luncheon.
