"And he said unto them, Be not affrighted; ye seek Jesus of TO The Church of the Naiarene, corner of Garden and Martin, will observe Easter with appro priate services at 9:45 a. m., 11 a. m. and 7:30 p. m. At the Sunday school hour at 9:45 o'clock, the several classes will present the resurrection theme in song and story with a special arrangement by the boys' chorus under the direction of Olive Spry. At 11, the pastor will speak on the theme, "Gateways of the Open Tomb." The choir will present, "The Stone is Rolled Away," and the ladies' trio, com posed of Mrs. Ruth Schwab, Olive Spry and Marie Wright, will sing "He Lives Again." by Mabel West. At the 7:30 hour the church choir will sing "The Victorious Christ," an Easter cantata by Haldor Lillenas, with TSgt. Philip Schwab as narrator of the resurrection story paralleling the rendition of the various mu sical arrangements. E Easter Day services at the Community Congregational church begin with the annual sunrise service at e:30 a. m., conducted by officers and mem ber of the. young people's so ciety, "Comrades of the Way." Juanita Shinn has arranged the order of worship. Lois Larson, president, is chairman of. the committee on arrangements. At 9:30 a. m. and 11 a. m., morning prayer and sermon, "Welcome, Happy Morning," is the title of the sermon to be preached at both services by Rev. Godfrey Matthews. The choir, accompanied by Mrs. H. S. stone, ana conducted by Mrs. Clifford A. Clayton, will lead the congregational singing, and Mrs. R. E. Thompson will sing the solos, "The Holy Hour," Heartr-Nevin, and "An Easter Story," W. M. Paisley. The chimes and the service preludes will be played by Charles Shinn. PUNS PROGRAM Easter services at the Union mission, 251 Commercial, with Mrs. C. M. Timms, pastor, will ue neiu at o o ciock Sunday morning. There will be special singing with a solo by Mrs. Dan iels, "The Confused World." The sermon will be given by the pastor, "The Risen Christ." Sunday school will be held at lu a. m.; worship, -11 a. m, Bible class, 6 p.. m. with Mrs Barnet, teacher. Evening serv ices at v o ciock with a special feature, the singing of spirituals. Churches in Klamath Falls have prepared special service throughout the day to give com fort and hope to those who fill the houses of worship this East ertide. Music will stress the resurrec tion theme and ministers are an ticipating the largest congrega tions on this fourth wartime Easter. On this page will be found the special services as planned by the various churches. SPECIAL SERVICE Immanuel Baotlst church plans special Easter services this Sunday with beautiful musical selections including those by the mixed quartet. Evening services will feature a baptismal service. Those who have not yet seen the beautiful on canvas paint ing, "Jordan River," by Mrs. Rose Cone, are especially in vited to attend evening services at cau o ciock who tne ttev. Charles J. Sundstrom officiating T The Easter Sunday services at St. Paul s Episcopal church were announced una week by the Rev, Frederick C. Wissenbach, rector. mere will Be choral celeora tion of Holy Communion at 7:30 a. m. At 10 a. m., the Easter service for children of the church school will be held, with presentation of the mite boxes at this time. The 11 o'clock service will be the choral celebration of the Holy Communion, sermon and .burning of the rectory mortgage. Easter services will be held at 3 p. m. at St. Barnabas church at Langell valley. TO HOLD SERIES Zion Lutheran church, 1025 High, will hold festival services on taster morning at 11 o'clock. The pastor, Victor A. Schulze, basing his sermon on John 20 20, will speak on the topic: "Our taster joy. Holy communion will be cele brated in connection with this service. The senior choir under the direction of Martin Bendin will sing two selections, "Christ Is Risen, a traditional Easter hymn, and "He Is Risen," by Simper, an Easter anthem. The public is cordially invited to at- tena. Council of Church Women Will Meet The Council of Church Wo men will meet at Immanuel Bap tist church on No. lltn on Mon day afternoon, April 2. There will be an executive committee meeting at 1 p. m. and at 2 p. m. the regular program will be presented by the League of Wo men voters on the Dumbarton Oaks proposals. Tea will be served following the meeting, and all church wo men are urged to be present. Easter Services Will Be Held atAltamont Sunday The Easter service at Altamont Community Presbyterian church will be held Sunday, April 1, at 11 o'clock in the Altamont Jun ior high school building, So. 8th and Summers Lane. Rev, Hueh T. Mitchelmore is the pastor. The Easier cantata, ''Victorious King," will be presented. , Chorus, "Jesus Reigns;" alto solo, "A Savior Reigns," and duet. "The Lord Who Came to Earth." . Baptist Church to Present ' Special Easter Service The combined youth and adult choirs of tne First uaptist cnurcn will present the greatest Easter service ever attempted by the church Sunday night at 7:30 o'clock. Besides the regular services of the day, the pastor will deliver tne caster message at ii a. m. Algoma Mrs. Deaver Mendenhall, Mrs. Frances Bowen, Mrs. Newt Walker, Mrs. Gene Gratton and Mrs. Julio Gonzales, members of the Algoma Red Cross unit, met at the schoolhouse March 28. They had a potluck dinner and tied six baby quilts. These wom en have completed 38 ditty bags and eleven quilt tops In a week's time. Mrs. Gertrude Hagelstein and Mrs. Oscar Sorenson have each completed two quilt tops. Mrs. Virginia Willman, Mrs. George Hagelstein and Miss Ma rie Hagelstein are regular mem bers whose names did not appear in the preceding notice.
