Garton said the site was select ed as a convenience for federal officials now in the northwest who wish to attend the session. Elsewhere in the northwest the proposed establishment of the Columbia valley authority received the backing of the Grand Coulee chamber of com merce, while the Lewlston, Ida., chamber declined to take action on a request by the Idaho. Falls chamber that they oppose crea tion of the authority. Maundy Thursday To Be Observed Maundy Thursday will be ob served at St. Paul's Episcopal church on March 29 with a choral celebration of Holy Com munion and the consecration of the new chalice of Paten. Approximately 80 tons of paper were collected In the kick off drive Sunday. This week is the kick-off for waste fat salvage, but a house-to-house can vass will not be made. House wives ere requested to turn their waste fats In to tho butcher whore they will be reimbursed with cash and rod points. The central salvoge depot is The Road to Berlin open 24 hours a day for the con venience of the citizens of Klam ath county. As soon as waste material Is accumulated, it should be brought to the depot so that shipments may be kept rolling, Lee stated.
