CLUB OFFICERS ELECTED At the regular luncheon nnd business meeting of the Navy Officers Wives club at the BOQ of the Klamalli naval air station on Wednesday, February 21, the officers who were elected to head tho organization were (left to right) Mrs. J. Program Plans A radio program especially prepared for teen-agers and (heir parents, sponsored by Iho Klamath PTA county council, will be presented by KFJI as a public service feature. The exact time of this broadcast will bo announced over tho local sta tion. The script was prepared by the national congress of Par ents and Teachers association, and was produced in the Port land high school radio work shops. Bridal Shower BLY A lovely bridal shower was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Obcnchain on the evening of February 23, in honor of Betty Smith, whose marriage to Pvt. Velmond Cary iook place at eight o clock on Thursday evening, March 1. As the guests arrived, the gifts were placed under a miniature parasol representing spring show ers. Auxiliary Meet At the last regular meeting of the American Legion auxiliary, a potluck dinner was jenjoyed by members of the American Legion and 25 Waves from the Klamath naval air station. During tho business session following tho dinner, Mrs. May Conradi spoke briefly as a rep resentative of the Waves and wives of servicemen, concern ing the use of the auxiliary rooms at the local Legion hall. Members of the auxiliary took a unanimous vote that the rooms be available to wives of men in service each Mondoy afternoon, while the Waves may hold their regular Monday meetings during the evening hours. Entertainment for the affair was furnished by pupils of the junior high school, including Jerry Goisler, Lloyd Carstcnsen, Gordon Green and Dale Craig, under the direction of Mrs. Sher man Carter, music director. A very interesting talk was given by C. S. Robertson of the Federal Building and Loan asso ciation, on the GI Bill of Rights. Senior Circle Mrs. L. J. Brink of 2241 Or chard entertained the senior cir cle of the Community Congre gational church on Friday, Feb ruary, and the assisting host esses were Mrs. M. Dexter and Mrs. Glenn Stivers.. Dessert stressed the Washington birth day theme, and Mary Eckstein Drcsident of the group, conduct ed the devotions, as well as the short business meeting. Mrs. Paul Edwards, -guest speaker, gave an extremely in teresting account ot tne wo men's Christian colleges in the Orient. Those formerly in occu pied China have moved to west ern China and are still doing marvelous worK. Of the one m Japan, little is known, but the three in India are prospering. and tho government officials prefer to send their daughters to the Christian colleges rather than those under the govern ment. Club Entertains , Members of the Happy Hour club entertained their husbands at a dinner party given Tuesday evening at the H. E. Jones home on Jefferson street when places were set for 21. After the dinner hour, Mr. Jones entertained the group by showing a number of reels of moving pictures that he has tak en in and around Klamath and at various western scenic spots. During cards. Nona Hall held high score, Fannie Goddard, second and Kathryn Billings, low. The pinochle award went to Agnace Lowe. The next meet ing will be held on March 8, with Nona Hall as hostess. S Surprise Party In observance of her husband's birthday, Mrs. Ernest Brown of 5440 Shasta, entertained with a surprise dinner party at their home on Saturday evening, Feb ruary 24.
