Camp Fire Girls and Blue
Birds from all groups in the city
enjoyed a Valentine costume
party which was held on Fri
day, reoruary B, in the auditor
ium of Fremont school.
Following the grand march
prizes were awarded to Ann
Golluspy for the most attrac
live costume and to Betty
franklin for the most humor
ous. Many varied and attrac
tive costumes were worn, and
members o the Wahanka group
were distinguished from others

which was printed the name of
the group
The girls . were entertained
with impromptu piano solos by

and Susan Vandcnberg and
dancing by Jean Adams, Diane
Oldenburg, Barbara Babcock,

laspy. After group singing and
games had been enjoyed by the
guests, refreshments were serv
ed to 120 girls by Mrs. R. W.
Hooker, party chairman. Other

Fire Makers
Six girls of the Wawakeye
Camp Fire group held their Fire
Maker's dinner on January 22 at
the home of their guardian, Mrs.
J. F. Lowell on 70S Jefferson.
In order to fulfill this require
ment, preparatory to taking Fire
Maker's rank, the girls planned
the well Balanced menu, pur
chased the food, cooked and
served the meal and cleaned the
kitchen later.
Candlelit tables added to the
gaiety of the party, and 16
guests wero served by the hos
tesses. Marilyn Hemminasen.

The Tau "chapter of Beta Sig
ma Phi moot at the homo of
Mrs. George Allcnsworth on
1130 Lincoln' street Thursday
night. A very unique travel
party was enjoyed by all and
Mrs. Jules Napier was in charge
of the games. Some very inter
esting travel games were played
concerning spots of interest
around Klamath Falls and cities
of the United States. Prizes for
the games were won by Mrs.
George Allcnsworth and Mrs.
Lloyd Smith.
The refreshments were served

during the course of the eve

ing on Valentine's Day, a fine
attendance at Sojourners was
noted, when members and
guests gathered at the Willard
hotel on Wednesday, for their
mid-February mooting. Host

J. Miller Babcock, who had ar
ranged clever little tallies and
candies In the spirit of the day,
to carry out the Valentine mo
tif. Guests of the club for the af

Preceding the social hour, a
brief business meeting was con
ducted by Mrs. Byron K. Fried
'man, president of the club. Ten
volunteers for the February
USO cookie project were called
for in order to divide the work
evenly among the members for
the making of sixty dozen cook
ies, which is the club's weekly
quota throughout the month.
Plans were discussed for the
annual spring tea at the Wil
lard hotel and the date was
set for Wednesday, March 14.
Chairman -and committees will
be announced at the next meet
ing, which will be February 28.

Sketches Sale
Kay Hoffman of Klamath
Falls, a senior student of art
at Montana State college, carried
her studies far afield last Mon
day when she was one of five
students chosen to sketch the
largest horse sale of the year al
the Bozeman livestock yards.
Some 300 horses afforded in
teresting subject matter for the
select group of artists, who rode
to the sale yards in a stockman's
truck, and sketched to the ac
companiment of the crying of
the auctioneer and business of
the ring.
The project was under the di
rection of Jessie Wilber of the
art department of the college.

Mrs. Moorhead
Monday Speaker
Mrs. George R. K. Moorhead, president of the Oregon State
Federation of Women's clubs, was the guest speaker at the
Monday afternoon meeting of the Klamath Falls Woman's Li
brary club in the main auditorium of the city library. Mrs.
Moorhead has been in Ashland conducting a series of classes
there, and spent Monday here, returning in the afternoon.
Mrs. Moorhead's talk 'Was informal and . centered around
"Today's Family." She stressed the need of the "middle road"
in the training and handling of young people of today and
urged her listeners to be considerate of the problems which face
young boys and girls in these
times.

meeting of the Soroptimist club.

organization. Humorous and in
teresting sketches of the indi
vidual's work were exchanged
during the -dinner hour at the
tables which had been beauti
fully decorated with spring

lighted the diners, who asked
