Mothan Club The Mothers
club of the Sacred Heart acad
emy will hold its regular meet
ing in the school auditorium on
Sunday, February 18 at 1:30
p. m. All who have not mailed
in their bazaar envelopes to the
academy are urged to do so

ents, Mr. and Mrs. August Mar
tens, and his sister, Mrs. Don

Home On Leave Cpl. Fred
O. McNaught, USMC. is home
on leave from Camp Pendleton,
Calif., visiting his wife, Karlcnc,
at 403 Lincoln. Cpl. McNaught
will be here until February 22.
when he will report back to
Camp Pendleton.

In England Word has been
received by Mrs. lone Linrt that
her son, TSgt. James Lawrence
Linzi, has arrived safely in Eng
land. His wife, Ray, is stationed
witli the Wac at Las Vegas. Nev.
Lawrence has been in the air
corps for four years, having
served for six months in the
Alaska theater of operations,
Pvt. Alfred "Pat" Lee Linzi,
U. S. marine corps. James'
younger brother, has been in the
South Pacific lor more man two
years. He has recently been pro
moled to the rank of corporal.
BPW Plans Exhibit Members
of the Business and Professional
Women's club who have received
gifts of an artistic nature from
other countries are asked to
bring them to Monday evening s
dinner meeting for an exhibit
which will be a feature of the in
ternational relations program,
in charge of Lucile Tweed. The
exhibit is to consist of handcraft
articles such as jewelry, linens,
belts, carvings and china.

this morning for disorderly con
duct and John Pennoycr and
Carl Wadecki were fined $2 each
for making a left turn.
Alex Trottier posted S3 bail
for violation of the basic rule
and five drunks and one vag also
appeared in police court. Six
parking tickets were paid yester
day. VUiting Mrs. Mildred Shultz,
graduate student at Oregon
State college in Corvallis, and
formerly a resident of Klamath
Falls, is here over the weekend
on a combined business and plea
sure trip.

reported to police that two boys
attempted to snatch her purse
last night shortly after 7 o'clock

was on her way to the theatref
She had a firm grip on the purse
and the attempt was not success
ful. She screamed and scared
the boys away.
Mrs. Olson was ahie to give n
fairly accurate description of the
culprits and city police and Ju
venile authorities nre following
up every available lead.

capacity, according to Klamath
reclamation authorities, us n re
sult of the recent heavy rainfall
In the upper reaches of Ihe Lost
river watershed.
Flood comlilions will reach
their peak some time today, but
no water will be spilled into
Tule lylto. Lost river has drop
ped about six Inches at llarpuld
dam and a further drop Is antici
pated bv reclamation officials.
This is the first lime In two
years that walor conditions have
iaxed the capacity of the diver
sion channel. -
Couple Found Dead
From Gas Poisoning
SEATTLE. Feb. 17 itVi Mr.
and Mrs, William A. McGregor
were found dead In the base
ment of their home last night,
victims of what Deputy Coroner
George Hall described as acci
dental gas poisoning. Gas leaked
from n main, Wall said, appar
ently cut when a shrub was re
moved recently from n corner
of the house. McGregor was 75,
his wife U7,
