The auxiliary to the Veterans
of Foreign Wars met In the club

There was an unusually large at

Mary Casey and Barbara Jones.

Veterans hospitals in Hoseburg
and Portland, also to the Nation

bond Is to be purchased during
the coming war bond drive, and

PI A Entertains
A delightful day was that of
Friday, November 10, when
teachers and students of the
Fairhaven school entertained 58
visitors between the hours of
10 a. m. and 3 p. m.
Students of the seventh grade
presented a current events les
son, and several Stephen Foster
favorites were sung by the
mixed chorus.
A short PTA meeting was
held, and coffee and doughnuts
were nerved later by Mrs. Mel
vin Gallaspy, Mrs. Orland Lynch
and Mrs. Dan Holllday.
Shasta PTA
One of the events of an active
season of the Shasta PTA was the
Tuesday tea held in the school
library, honoring the committee
in charge ol the recent carnival,
the PTA executive board and the
teaching staff of Shasta school.
Mrs. Ivan Crumpacker, PTA
president, presided at the tea,
and flowers, decorations and re
freshments carried out the PTA
color scheme of blue and yellow.
Mrs. Crumpacker was assisted by
Mrs. M. rt. Houser.
The carnival put on recently
by the Shasta Fi'A, netted $325,
which will go into the treasury
and will help in the club's proj-
