Revenue Collectors
Puzzled by Claims
- PORTLAND, Nov. 2 (?)
James W. Moloney, Portland of
fice of the Internal revenue de

"Chinese puzzles" many of the
claims for 1943 income tax re-
' funds.
A large number of persons
placi lg claims actually owe the
government, he said, and ex-
'.t pressed surprise that "so many
taxpayers arc so ignorant in
these mMters."
' Despite hiring 00 extra em
ployes, the swamped Portland of-
l, lice still has processed fewer
j. than half the claims, Maloncy
' stated.
