The groom's home is In Chi cago, Minos, and he Is now sta tioned at the Marine Barracks. Following Ivan's graduation, Stella went with Lt. and Mrs. Kandra to New York and drove back wilh them as far as Paris, Texas, where the Kondras arc now making their home, Farewell Party Fpr Colonel Given Here A group of Colonel Bernard Dubcl's Klamath friends gave a farewell dinner party for him at Lakcshoro Inn on Monday eve ning, October 23. Colonel Dubcl, who has been commanding of ficer of tho Marine Barracks here since April, is leaving soon for overseas duly. His wife and daughter will remain here in Klamath Falls. Dinner was served in the private dining room, decorated in a Harvest memo with autumn leaves, gourds, corn husks, pur ple grapes and buskcls of pyra. cantna. Wed in Virginia Mr. and Mrs. Waller Fuller of 2252 Vine have received word of the marriage of their son, Raymond, lo Lillian Mundy, of Louisville, Ky. Raymond had been taking of ficers' training at Camp Lee, Va., and was married on the day of his graduation to tho rank of second lieutenant in the quar termasters corps. The wedding took place in tho First Christian church, Petersburg, Va., on Fri day, Octobci 13. The young couple are now on a wedding trip to New York, and will return to Fort Warren, Wyo. They hope lo come to Klamath Falls on Raymond's next furlough. Raymond has been overseas and was sent back to the stetes to recuperate when he was wounded in action. Rushing Dinner Tau chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held an informal rushing buffet dinner party Sunday aft ernoon, October 22, at the home of Mrs. Marshall Cornett, 2043 Lavcy. Favors and decorations carried out the Halloween theme. Luncheon A party for Patricia MVVcy, daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. A. V. McVey, was given last week by Ann Mueller. Patricia was' a popular mem ber of the younger set here un til her family moved away sev eral years ago. She was visiting hero over the week-end from Albany, Oregon, where she is now living. Miss Hunziker Weds Ensign Brock Monday. Coming as a surprise to their many friends was the marriage on Monday, October 23, of Faith Hunziker and Ensign Wilbur Allen Brock, which took place at 7 o'clock in the First Methodist parsonage. The ceremony was read by the Rev. Victor Phillips. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hunziker, 2709 Derby, is an attractive member of the younger set, a graduate of KUHS and Northwestern Busi- ness college at Portland, a mem- ENSIGN AND MRS. WILBUR ALLEN BROCK wore married last Monday at an informal evening wedding, which took place in the parsonage of the First' Methodist church. Mrs. Brock, the former Faith Hunziker, was attended by Lucille Russ. Best, man was Ensign T. F. Clinton. The bride and groom are in the center of tho picture -,.. - ... v. . . ..... Kennell-Ellls ber of Theta Alpha Chi sorority and is active in social and civic affairs. She was formerly a member of the Klamath Com mandos and was selected Rodeo queen of the 1943 celebration. For her wedding she chose a gold dressmaker suit with black accessories. Her corsage of talis man roses was pinned at the shoulder. Mrs. C. H. Hunziker, mother of the bride, was dressed in black and white georgette and wore a red rose corsage. The maid of honor, Lucille Russ, wore a soldier blue gown with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. . The groom, Ensign Wilbur Allen Brock, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Brock of Ransom, Kansas, has been stationed for tho past six months at tho Klam ath Naval Air station. He is a graduate of Kansas State col lege and received his Wings at Pensacola, Florida, in .October, 1943. Best men was Ensign T. F. Clinton, a close friend of the groom and a member of his squadron. Ensign Brock Is the third member of his squadron to marry a Klamath Falls girl. Faith Is the third generation ot Hunziker to be married on the 23rd of October, exactly 27 years apart. October 23 Is also the birthday of the groom. Attending the wedding were the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hunziker, Ensign and Mrs. J. E. Stevenson, Miss Litcillc Russ and Ensign and Mrs. T. F. Clinton. Following the ceremony a large reception was held in the Pelican party room. The traditional three tier wedding cake, lopped by a tiny duplication of the bride and groom, was beautifully dis played on a cloth of old lace. Bouquets of rose buds and many tail candles completed the or- rnngemcnts. The wedding cake was served by Virginia Ivlorln and Lillian Baker. Pouring were Mrs. George Johnston and Mrs. C. S. Hull. Ensign and Mrs. Brock will make their homo for the pres ent in Klamath Falls. Plan Dance The Sojourners met at the Willard hotel on Wednesday of this week with the president, Mrs. Matt Finnigan, presiding. After a short business meeting. bridge and pinochle were played. frizes ot war stamps were awarded to Mrs. C. D. Ough, Mrs. Byron Friedman and Mrs. F. Lambo. Hostesses for the next meet ing on November eighth will be Mrs. Allan Fletcher and Mrs. S. D. Earhart. Plans were made for ' an apron-overall dinner dance to be given at the Lakeshore Inn on November 10, at 7:30 p. m. Mrs. Byrcm Friedman was named chairman and her committee in cludes, Mrs. L. C. Sauer, Mrs. A. T. Welch, Mrs. William B, Yates, Mrs. F. Lambo, and Mrs. Joe Mitchell. For reservations call 8406. Members of Sojourners have turned in 331 hours at Red Cross, 12 hours at the Ration Board and 95 at the Service Center. Sojourners meet on the sec ond and fourth Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p. m. for n no-hostess luncheon, followed by bridge and pinochle at 2 p. m. Newcomers to Klamath Falls are urged to attend. ' . " Garden Group The Garden group of the Klamath Falls Library club met Monday, October 23, In the small club room of the city library. After a brief business meeting, A. H. Bussman gave a very in structive talk on local gardening, stressing compost piles for the leaves and not using leaves for winter bedding, as they tend to smother. Tho next meeting wHl be an afternoon work meeting for the making of winter ar rangements, using branches, rocks, etc. ' 8 ' Nadlne and Margie Palmerton, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Palmerton, Pacific Terrace, left Tuesday for Berkeley, whore they will attend the University of California. Nadlne, who went to Lewis and Clark college In Portland last year, will be sophomore, and Margie will erv ler as a freshman. 1 "
