KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON MINES Chicken For Th Marines SAILOR GIVEN CITATIONS Two marines and tailor were given citations and medals Saturday morning during an im pressive ceremony on the Mar ine Barracks parade grounds. PFC William R. Truman re ceived the navy and marine ' corps medal and a citation, issued by the commander-in-chief of the Pacific fleet, in recognition of his "valorous conduct at Eniwetok Lagoon. Marshall Islands, on February 22 1944." He was a member of a marine infantry regiment which made the initial landings in the Mar shall. - Phm 1c James Noel McGec, navy corpsman with a unit of the First marine division on Guadalcanal, was formally awarded presidential unit citation, and Sgt. Charles N. Taylor received the Purple - Heart, having been wounded in action. The citations were read by Ma. Clyde C. Roberts. Immed iately before the ceremony Col. B. Dubel, Com. Lowell T. Cog geshall, Major Roberts and Lt. - (H. C.) I. R. LIsbony, inspected - the parade battalion, band and fn)r.r onarri. In deference to the chilly weather, the parading marines were all attired in full winter service uniforms. - After the citations were read, the troops passed in review be fore the Inspecting party and the honored men.
