Lawn Supper Event
Given for Clubs
Climaxing the vacation season was tho lawn .supper given
Monday evening, August 21, at the Sheldon Brumbaugh's country
home near Olenc for the Soroptimist and Business and Profes
sional Women's clubs, which was the final informal gathering
for both groups before resumption of regular meetings in Sep
tember. Tho supper was served buffet style in an attractive garden
setting with places set for about 50 at tables grouped about the
lawn.
Special guests enjoying the
evening included Mrs. Bernard
Dubel, Lt. Jean E. Morrison and
PFC Elizabeth Sanders of the
WACs,- Ebba and Ethel Wicks,
Ina Patty and Twyla Ferguson,
hostess of Soroptimist House.
Rose Poole recounted a num
ber of highlights of her trip to
Now York this summer and of
her attendance at the biannual
international conference of Sor
optimists, held at St. Louis.
Norma Miller, president of
BPW, reported on the recent dis
trict conference held at Dor
chester House on the coast, and
urged all members of her club
to pay up their dues by Septem
ber 1, after which date a penalty
will be added.
