She has returned to Klamath Falls to live with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chesleigh O. Moore, while Don is over seas with the navy. , , , , . Nadine Palmerton, Joanne Hamilton, Ann Otey, Gwen Mead, Helen McNulty and Peggy Keating. 4 Grange Club, The Home Economics club of Midland grange met at the home of Mrs. W. G. Ely on Nevada street August 1. A short business meeting was held after which the afternoon was spent in sew ing for the Bed Cross The proceeds of a card party given fast month were turned over to the grange fo-. the pur pose of buying another war bond. Plans were made for the entertainment of service men later this month. Mrs. Georgi Lamb who is re covering from an operation was able to be out again and was presented with a gift from the grange. Mrs. Fred Crapo won the door award, and refreshments were served at the close of the after noon to Mrs. Lee Sutton, Mrs. Phil Motschenbacher, Mrs. H. B. Largent, Mrs. Katie Bowles, Mrs. Boy Huff, Mrs. George Lamb, Mrs. August Andrieu, Mrs. John Mistier, and the hostess, Mrs. W. G. Ely, and son Johnny. Club Meets - Members of the Fast Noble Grand club of the Prosperity Rebekah lodge met with Alma Cofer at her home at 1017 High .on Tuesday afternoon, August . 1. A potluck picnic had been planned, but owing to threaten ing weather, the meeting was held inside. Abell home at Ivory Pine mill was the scene of a birthday party on July 18, honoring little Danny Abell, who was four years old. The slide, see-saw, and swing in the Abell yard were greatly enjoyed by the little guests. Games were played after which refreshments were served. Guest at the Hubert Morciock home in Malin for the past month was Mrs. Browning of Los Angeles, a cousin of Mr. Morelock. Mr. Browning and Mr. Campbell also arrived last Wednesday for a few days' visit. All left Sunday for their homes in the south. Mr. Morelock. is expecting a sister and her family for a visit in August. His sister, Mrs. Beam, and her family reside in Bakers field where Mr. Beam is em ployed with the Southern Pa cific. Mr, Morelock has'hot seen his sister for 23 years when he left Tennessee. Mrs. Beam came west a short time ago to live in Bakersf ield. - !tM ft! The charter was draped in memory of Rose McCrosky, of the jurisdiction of the state of Washington, who passed away May 3. The social club, under the di rection of Alma Cofer and Elizabeth Ramsby, served light refreshments at the close of the meeting. Dance Contest The Grinmore dance, spon sored by the Women of the Moose on Saturday, July 29, was well attended. Highlight of the evening was the Grinmore dance contest which was won by a ma rine and his lovely wife. They were awarded a cash prize of $5 and following the award they presented an exhibition dance which was greatly applauded. The second prize went to Mrs. Linda Brown and Mr. Cauble. Refreshments were served fol lowing the dance. Here this week as a guest of Ann Otey was Gwen Mead, for mer resident of Klamath Falls. Gwen has been attending college in Hutchinson, Kans., for a year and was here for a few days on her way to Portland to visit with reiativos. She was a member of the KUHS graduating class of .1943 and visited with many of her friends before she left for Portland Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Shaw of Glendale, Ore., were guests here last weekend of Mr. Shaw's mother, Mrs. Clara Shaw of Homcdalc drive, before leaving for Alaska where they plan to make their home.
