Lew Wallace, democratic na tional committeeman from Ore gon, disclosed also that Port land's Elks lodge adopted a res olution urging the governor to "immediately call a special ses sion to enact legislation to change the independent filing date from September 23 to Au gust 15 to give soldiers addi tional time to return November ballots."
