Mrs. O'Connor was assisted by members of tho society and by her three daughters, Kuthlccn, Mary Lou and Patsy. Tables for tea and coffee were placed on cither end of the gar- den terrace, At the tea service which flanked a central motif of mixed blooms, Mrs. M. A. Bow man of Merrill, Mrs. Jess Dieter of Tulclake and Mrs. E. M. Ham mond of Merrill served from two until five o'clock. The iced bev erage was served from a cut glass punch bowl. The coffee table, placed be neath a- huge garden umbrella, protected an arrangement of California poppies. Pouring at this table were Mrs. Mamie Gla comini of Merrill,. Mrs. Nona Corpcnlng of Olene and Mrs. Henry Cox, Merrill. ! A profusion of iris, peonies, and columbine contrasted with unusual arrangements of fruit about the rooms of the spacious home. Talented musical artists of the community contributed numbers to the program arranged by Mrs. Mamie Glacomlnl. 8 ' ' Klamath friends are sending felicitations to Lieut, and Mrs. L. A. Hammers (Marjorle South well) who are parents of a daughter born June 28, at Fort Sill, Okla., where the lieutenant was stationed until his recent transfer to Camp Van Dorn, Miss., Grandparents are Mr, and Mrs. W. Lecture Dr.- Adolph Welnzlrl will speak to any Klamath woman Interested In the entertainment of servicemen in the Little The ater at the high school at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Dr. Weinzirl is in Klamath Falls in connection with a series of lectures being given to the younger girls on Monday eve nings. His topic for the afternoon will be "The Family In a World at War." This series of lectures will have great educational value to the women of this city and it is sponsored by the E. C. Brown trust division of social hygiene at the University of Oregon medical school in Portland. ,888 The Prosperity Rebekah lodge met on Thursday, July 6, at 8 o'clock in the Odd Fellows hall. Following the business meet ing, the IOOF members held their Memorial Day services. Al ma Cofer played on the piano "Rock of Ages" and a poem was read by Frances Munsell. Her sister Lucille, was her only attendant and she wore a dress of pink with a corsago of forgct-mc-not.i and rosebuds. Best man was the father of tho groom. After tho ceremony a small reception was held at tho home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Martin on East Main street for the bridal party and close friends. -Those attending wero Mr. and Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Lcland Mnyfield, Mrs. Lane Smith, Mrs. Romnlne Thomas, Doris Ynntis, and Lu clllo Proctor. After the wedding the couple left for Salem where they will be until Lane reports back to Treasure Island where he is sta tioned with the navy. He has Just recently returned from overseas duty. Louellen Is a graduate of Klamath Union high school and she moved this last fall with her family to Salem. The groom is a graduate of the Keno schools.
