control signal system, now be

the present rate of progress, the
operation will be extended early

When completed, the central

at the upper end of the Feather
River canyon, and Oroville, west

the project will' be completed

Under the new signal system
(called the CTC), movements of
all trains In the district will be
directed by a dispatcher from a
central tower, strategically lo
cated at Keddle, 76 miles east
of Oroville. Trains will be di
rected only by signal indication,
without train orders, and all
passing track switches on the
entire district will be electrical
ly ooened and closed by remote
control from tho main control
board at Keddic.
