During the afternoon, tribute was paid to the memory of Mrs. C. S. Elliott, founder of the So journers club, who passed away a year ago this month. Tho his tory of the club was read by Mrs. Wilbur Shannon. Tea was served at an attractive table centered with a crystal bowl which held spring flowers, White candlesticks in crystal holders added to the decorations, Three new members, Mrs. M, P. Mrs. Dryden was assisted by Alta Clark, and the members en joyed games and refreshments following the business meeting, The committee for the afternoon consisted of Richard Weed and Philip Clark. For the July meeting, the committee will be Patsy Clark and Patsy Ruth Miller. The tea table was beautiful with a lace cloth and red, white, and blue candles in a V formation. The centerpiece of red, white, and blue flowers was cleverlv arranged about a Madonna figur ine, Mrs. Edna Russell had charge of bridge and Mrs. Lina Mot- schenbacher had charge of Di- nochle arrangements. There were twenty live tables ot cards in play. . A special award was won by Frank Hotiten. Pinochle awards were won by Fred Heilbronner, Mrs. Lohry, and Mrs. Dufor. Bridge awards went to Dr. M. E, Cooper. Mrs. Dorothy Temoler. Li. l,, low, and Mrs. Martha Mc- Collum. An Interesting highlight of the evening was the "Cake Raffle." Chances on the cakes were sold during the evening and the win ners were Mrs. Betty Hunter and Mrs. Sylvia McClelland. Mrs. Arlena Schubert, presi dent of the American Legion auxiliary, and Mrs. Lillian Otter- bem, past president, presided at tne tea tapie. Mrs. Lee McMullen was in charge of refreshments. Happy Hour Club The Happy Hour club met at the home of Mrs. Alfreda stein metz on Tuesday, June 13. Members present were Mrs. C. C. Kathryn is a science maior and was recently pledged to Phi Sig ma, national biology honorary. Kathryn plans to continue her science studies and will work for her master's degree this com ing fall.
