Funeral Set For Mrs. Povlika, Malin Matron Funeral services will be held Wednesduy for Mrs. Anna Brlxa I'ollvku, pioneer resident of Ma lin, who passed away at hor homo on Monday following an illness of six months. Mrs. Polivka was a native of Prague, Czechoslovakia, and at mo umo oi nor acatn was 7. years of ugo. Surviving uro her husband, Anton Polivka Sr., of Malln; two sons, Anton Jr., of San Fran cisco, and Emll Polivka of Mcr rill; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Hnlley of Merrill; one sister, Mrs. Josef Zarybnlcky of Nnmpa, Iduho, und one brother, Victor Urixa of Vancouver, B. C. Also surviving are eight grand chil dren and two great grandchil dren. The funeral will be held In tho chapel of the Earl Whitlock Funeral home at 2 p. m. Wed nesday. Indian Woman Held On Driving Charge Tressie Hunt, Indian, from Spraguc River, was arrested Monday by state police on a charge of driving while under the Influence of liquor. Klamath Army Nurse Gets Thrill in Forced Landing Some Interesting experiences on her trip home are told by Lt. Lucy Houghton, who is home on a week's leave from duty with the army air corps nurses at Kelly .Field, Texas. She is visiting with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. . Claude Houghton. The Flying Fortress in which she flow from Kelly Field to Los Angeles developed trouble with the radio and was forced to make an emergency landing at Palm Springs. Coming down in Los Angeles, they landed at the Lockheed plant. Lt, Houghton is the super visor of the eye, ear, nose and throat clinic at the field, but is waiting to hear from an ap plication put in for the evacua tion unit overseas. She entered the nurse corps last July after graduating from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. She is a graduate of KUHS and attended the University of Oregon. A cat owned by D. J. Grlsso of Troy, N. Y has four front paws and an extra toe on each of its hind feet. Charles DeLap, lone candidate on the republican ticket for the office of county clerk spent f 20, which is the filing fee. U. E. Reeder, successful can didate on the republican ticket for county judge, spent $142.67, according to' his expense ac count. Chet Langslet, Incumbent for the county treasurer's post, filed an expense account of $38.90. Langslet was unopposed.
