A reception wa held later at tho Pelican party room for the brldnl party. Centerpiece on the tublo wa the three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature toldlcr and hi bride. The bride1 grandmoth er, Mr. D. W. Ferguson, cut the cake and helped crve. Singer To Be Heard Here Conrad Schultz To Be Heard in Concert at Presbyterian Church Mr. A. J. Voyo will pre vent one of her outstanding voice itudcnt, Conrad Schultz, In a concert to be given at tho Presbyterian church Thursduy evoning, September the iccond, at a quurter bait eight o'clock. Conrad, who I nineteen and the ion of Mr. and Mr. O. A. Schultz of Tulclake, wa very enthusiastically re ceived recently In San Fran cisco by George Gibson Davis, well-known critic of that area. After ho hud heard Conrad sing, Duvls, according to Mrs. Voyo, ald that the young man had one of the best dra matic voice he had ever heard. While In the bay area young Schultz wa also advlacd by tho owner of a radio station there to try for civic opera. In voice recital given pre viously by Mr. Voye, Conrad ha been extremely popular with the local audiences. Guest artist at the concert to be given Thursday will be Mia Dora Schindler, violin ist, of Tulclake, who will filay four concert number. Mis Schindler Is alio nine teen year old. She received her training in music In Los Angeles. The talented violin ist also plays the cello. Ticket to the concert, which i Invitational, are be ing sent out this week. Larsen enter tained with a dessert bridge at the Pelican, party room on Thursday afternoon honoring Mrs. Mason. Fall Affair at Goeckner Home Members of the Wednesday club of St. Paul's church held a "Rushing Tea" at the home of Mrs. Edward Goeckner on 345 North Tenth street Friday afternoon between the hours of three and six o'clock. The table centerpiece was of rosebuds and maiden hair fern. Rose tapers also decorated the table and were tied with moire ribbon which extended over the hand-woven lace table cloth. At the two silver tea services, Mrs. D. V. Kuykendoll,' Mrs. R. Hcber Kadcliffc, Mrs. L. S. Tyrrell, Mrs. Marvin K. Lucas, Mr. Neol Stewart, and Mrs. Francis R. Olds, charter members of the organization, presided throughout the after noon. ' Assisting about the rooms were Mrs. Edward Goeckner, Mrs. Truman Berg ,Mrs. Rich Mr. Truman Berg, Mr. Rich ton, Mr. John Schubert, Mrs. Phil Schroedcr, Mr. Percy Webb, Mr. ' Edwin Schnce-' beck and Mrs. Frank Bogatay. The rooms of the house were colorfully decorated with Mlchaclmos daisies, aster and njilox. Approximately eighty-five guests wcro invited for the tea hours. The Wednesday club was or ganized seventeen years ago and is sponsored by the St. Paul's church for young wom en of the city. The meetings are held on the first end third Wednesday evenings of each month at tha St. Paul's parish hull. Meetings are social gather ings where bridge is played or the young women bring their sewing. Tho first regular meeting of tho year will bo held on 'Sep tember the first at eight O' clock. Hostesses will be new officers. They are Mrs. Rich ard Hlbbs, Mrs. Edward Goeckner and Mrs. Truman Berg. Tho first project of the ycor will be a rummago sale given on September the eleventh with Mrs. Harold Shaffer as chairman, Moving to Portland next week are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson and sons, Robert and Richard. Mr. Wilson has been employed by tho Weyerhaeu ser Timber company and Mrs. Wilson has been assistant sec retary of the chamber of commerce. AUGUST MEETING OF GARDEN CLUB TO BE MONDAY The Klamath Falls Garden club will hold its regular monthly meeting this coming Monday, August the thirtieth. Winter care of beets, carrots and other root vegetables will bo the subject of a talk given by Mrs. A. O. Roenlcke. The meeting will be held in the club rooms at the city li brary. Plans will be discus sed for the flower show and luncheon to be held next . month. Schedules will also be given for the flower show, according to Mrs. Horace Getz, president of the Garden club. The couple are the parents of Mr. Forrest Cooper of Portland and Lakeview and who is well-known here. Kennell-Ellls Plans Being Made For Fall Luncheon Library Club To Give Annual Flower Show' and Lunch September 13 at Willard Hotel N Plans for the annual fall luncheon and flower show slated for Monday afternoon, September the thirteenth, at one o'clock by the Klamath Falls Woman's Library club, are being com pleted by committees this week. Reservations for the luncheon, to be given In the Willard hotel, must be made before Friday, September the tenth, it was announced. All women in the city, regardless of their affiliations, are invited to accept membership in Library club. Memberships may be obtained the day of the luncheon. Mrs. Matthew Rauw is membership chairman. Chairman of this years luncheon is Mrs. Frank Hamb let. Her telephone number is 4373, and members of her committee include Mrs. Har ry Goeller. 4664; Mrs. D. N. Clemens, 5431; Mrs. Warren Bennet, 4325; Mrs. Kenneth G. 1 Klahn, 5871. The committee hopes to contact Library, club members but those desiring to attend the luncheon would make it much simpler for the workers if they would call in their reservations to any of the above as soon as possible. The program for the year is also near completion, accord ing to Mrs. E. D. Hamacher, chairman. These programs will be printed and distributed at the luncheon. MISS LESMEISTER TO BEGIN NURSES TRAINING SOON. Miss Dorothy Lesmeister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs P. J. Lesmeister of this .city, will enter the St. Joseph's school of Nursing on September the sixth, to begin training for the United States cadet nurses corps. Miss Lesmeister is a gradu ate of Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1943. Before entering school, she Is vacationing in Portland. Mrs. G. BEVERLY REED . MAKES PLANE TRIP HOME Beverly Jean Reed of the WAVES, now stationed at Pasco air base in Washington, . made a flight home by plane on . Wednesday evening re turning the following day. Beverly has been assigned to her new position in the log office of the air base. Her' work is checking planes in and out on various flights. Beverly is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Reed and a sister of Audrey Reed of 312 McKinley street. She was graduated from Klamath Un ion high school in 1939. Visiting here for the past month has been Mrs. Ann Narey of St. Paul, Minnesota, who has been staying at the home of her daughter-in-law and son, Mr. and Mrs. Brady Narey at the Audley apart- . ments' She has also visited in Seattle and Montana. She will enter Oregon State college at Cor vallis this fall. Don was an outstanding athlete in high school and re ceived the Lion's club award for being the most valuable player on the football team. He was also the captain.
