She arrived In this city on Friday morning and left with the Merrymnns on ' Saturday for tho Mcrrymon homo at Lake o' tho Woods. Miss Jones, tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank F, Jones of Spraguc, plans to go east in late July or early August to wed Dn. John D. Morryman in Miidlson, Wisconsin. .... v nil k a Kutn Meiaas Marries Klamath Girl Wed s in Orlando, Florida, in June Ceremony The First Presbyterian church of Orlando, Florida, was tho scene of the wedding of Miss Ruth Beverly Mclaas of Klamath Falls to Lieuten ant Keith Jay Lindsay of Mc Minnville. The ceremony was read nt three o'clock on Sun day, June the thirteenth. Dr. Marshall Dendy read the vows for the double ring ceremony. Tho bride woro a magnolia colored crepe afternoon frock and carried a small brown army testament, a gift from Dr. William G. Everson, presi dent of Linficld collego for whom she served as secretary. Her corsngo was of gardenias and red rose buds. Mrs. T. B. Wcscott of Phila delphia, tho bride's only at tendant, was costumed In yel low crepe with a matching hnt. Lieutenant Thomas Lar kin of New York city acted as best man. Captain T. B. Wes cott gave tho bride in mar riage. Mrs. Lindsay Is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Melons of this city. She was graduated from Klamath Un ion high school in 1930 and from Linficld collego last May. She is affiliated with Lambda Sigma sorority. Lieutenant Lindsay Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lindsay of McMlnnville. He also attended Linficld collego and was a member of Alpha Gamma Nu fraternity. Lieutenant and Mrs. Lind say will make their homo in Orlando while he Is stationed there nt the army air forces school of applied tactics. On our page today we have three young men who have gone into three branches 'of naval reserve training. Ben Hostings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rohlen ,C. Hast ings, left on Friday, June twenty-fifth, for Fayette, Mis souri, where he will enter Center college in the V-7 program of the navy. This program trains reserve of ficers. Ceorge Proctor, son of Mr. and "Mrs. A. C. Proctor, left last Sunday evening for Crawfordville, Indiana, where he will enter Wabash college for V-5 training, for officers in the naval air corps. John Fletcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred D. FJetcher, also left last Sunday for Boulder, Colorado, where he will enter school under the V-12 program. He is training to be a deck officer. Mrs. George Cornell Honored With Shower at Howard Home Virginia Howard and Nolle Gardner were hostesses on Monday evening, June the twenty-eighth, at Miss How ard's home on East Main street for a stork shower for Mrs. George Cornell ' (Allie Lee Dean). Clever decora tions were used about the room and colors were in pink and blue. During the evening games were played and later refresh ments wero served. In the center of the table was a white cake decorated with pink and blue roses, and pink lemonade and pink ice cream were served on small trays. Prizes for tho games played during the evening were won by Mary Lou Johnson, Mer lon Albrecht and Mary Jane Drake. Another prize was won by Dorothea Ellingson. PROCTOR MISS RAKESTRAW TO TRY FOR WAAR TRAINING Attractive Peggy Rakestravr is hoping to be the first Klamath county girl to enter the women's auxiliary air force, known to the nation as the WAAFS. Peggy, daughter of Mr. and' Mrs. Roy D. Rakcstraw of Eldorado Heights, returned home Sunday morning from Oakland, California, where she has been employed for the past nine months in the transportation division of the quartermaster depot, United " States army. Right now Peggy is trying to get in thirty-five hours of training at the Klam ath airport in order to sub mit her application to the WAAFS. That amount of training is required by the government. Peggy has passed her government examination. She is a graduate of Klamath Union high school and attend- l ed the University of Oregon where she is affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega sorority. REBEKAHS HAVE REGULAR MEETING The regular meeting of Prosperity Rcbckah lodge was held Thursday evening, July the first, in the IOOF hall. ' Klamath Boy Is Married James Lyle Weds in Florida to Miss Joan Stinnete of Dallas The traditional month of June saw another bride go down the aisle, with the wed ding of Mis3 Joan Stinnette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stinnette of Dallas, Oregon, and Sergeant James J. Lyle, United States army air corps, son of Mrs. Ruby Lyle of this city and Mr. A. P. Lyle of Portland. The ceremony was read at half past five o)clock the af ternoon of June the seven teenth, in the parsonage of the Presbyterian church in Jacksonville, Florida. The bride wore a white af ternoon frock of sharkskin with matching accessories and a lovely corsage of white or chids. Men of the Jackson ville air base attended the young couple, and immediate ly after the service, there was a wedding supper and the two left for St. Augustine, Flor ida, where they had a four day honeymoon in that historic old city. The romance for Jimmy and Joan had its beginning at the University of' Oregon where she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega, and he with Theta Chi. The bride is a sorority sister of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Howard Davis of Glendale, California. She is known to the school set here and vis ited in Klamath Falls last sum mer when she was a guest of the Lyles at their summer home at Lake o' the Woods. Sergeant and Mrs. Lyle are at home at 203 North Third avenue in Jacksonville. He is an instructor in instrument flying at the Jacksonville air base. His bride, following her graduation from the Univer sity of Oregon, was with United Airline in Portland but has been transferred to the Jack sonville office. Mae Gibson Marries In North Friends may be interested to know of the marriage .of Miss Mae Gibson, formerly of Klamath Falls, to Mr. David ' Saseen, on last Sunday, June the twenty-seventh in Port land.
