Power Company
NEWPORT, May 4 lP) The
Contral Llncolrl County Peoples'
Utility district will purchase the
West Coast Power company's
power system In Lincoln, Coos,
Douglas and Lane counties to
morrow for 1733,000.
A check for that amount from
John Nuvcen and company of
Chicago, which bought tho
PUD'n bonds, will bo signed over
to the compuny by PUD officials
at Portland.

late Mary E. Garrett, who passed

JAYCEE DELEGATES
At the war conference held at
Portland Saturday and Sunday,
Paul Lee of the Klamath county
junior chamber of commerce was
elected president of the Oregon
state Junior chamber of com
merce. Joe Bally was elected
secretary-treasurer.
The war conference was high
lighted by the presence of Wil
liam Shepherd, president of the
United States junior chamber of
commerce, who has just returned
from a trip to Mexico and Cen
tral America where the Jaycee
movement was started in those
countries by the establishment of
seven chapters.
The Portland war conference
was topped off by the delegates
attending the launching of the
Liberty ship, Robert Newell, and
tour of inspection of the Oregon
Shipbuilding corporation.
