Declines of fraction to a point or so ruled from the start. It was the firm, letback since Feb ruary 8. Offerings were never urgent and, while dealing top ped the 1,000,000-share mark. they were relatively alow when stacked up against the previous 1,835,840 total, largest since De cember, 1941. Good war news from Russia and the Solomons helped offset cloudy dispatches from Tunisia. Inflation ideas continued as a bolstering factor. The upturn was associated with congressional developments and with an announcement that the Commodity Credit corpora tion had ordered sales of govern ment owned wheat for livestock feed limited because supplies were running low. The CCC said of the 125,000 bushels of wheat authorized for sale as feed at 85 per cent of the corn parity price, more than 100,000,000 bushels had been dis posed of and further sales were limited pending the determina tion of the amount committed under unfilled sales. Wheat advances amounted to as much as ?l cents and rye to 2 cents at the extreme.. . Wheat closed 11 to 2 cents above; yesterday's final prices, May and July $1,411-1; Septem ber $1,421-1; corn rose I to I, May 991-1; July $1.00; oats were I to 1 higher; rye 2 to 21 and soybeans gained 1 cent. .
