The exceptions are in Baker, Grant, Harney, Klamath, Lake, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wheeler nnd Malheur counties whore it will be Irom May 1 to October 31. The bag limit will be 15 fish or 15 pounds and one fish in any one day, but not to exceed 30 llsh or 30 pounds and two fish in any seven consecutive days or in possession at any one time. Pelicans Drop Grants Pass Cavemen, 32-28, for Third Win in Basketball Series VVSC Cagers Win Second Oregon Tift PULLMAN, Jan. 18 VP) Wash ington State evened its opening scries of the northern division Pacific Coast conference basket ball season with the University ol Oregon here Saturday night. Oregon won tho opener Fri day and WSC's Cougars came back strong to take Saturday's contest, 48-40. The game left Oregon out in front ol the coast conference with three victories to one defeat, having won two straight from Idaho at Moscow earlier In the week. Washington State had a bare 29-19 advantage at the half and went ahead in the nip and tuck battle only when the Webfoots let down momentarily in the second period. A New $64 Question CHICAGO, Jan. 18 (AP Here's the makings of another $64 question: The Monmouth college fresh men and the Augustana (111.) reserves played a basketball game in which neither team ap pears to have lost and yet it wasn't a tie. At the end of regulation time the scoreboard showed a 29-29 tie. It was still tied, 33 all, after a five-minute overtime. In a second overtime August ana won, 36-34. Meantime, a check of score books showed Monmouth had won in regulation time, 30-29. Harried officials finally were slapped by a happy thought. They awarded Monmouth the game and Augustana the over time. Al Lindsay Does Best Coaching Job From Seat in Stands . Klamath high school hoop teams made a clean sweep of their weekend games. The Pelicans dropped tho Grants Pass Cave men on the Grants Pass floor Saturday night for the third con secutive time by a score of 32-28. The Wildcats beat Bonanza 38-23, and the high school Ireshmcn whipped tho Bonanza B team. The Grants Pass-Pelican tilt was a riotous affair with the crowd cheering so loudly that the referee's whistle couldn't be heard. Klamath took the lead at the quarter 15-12 and led by Bocchi and Welch ran the score to 21-12 at the half. The score at the end of the third period was 28-20. in a last minute rally, the Cavemen made eight points to the Pelican's four to bring the score to 32-28. A field goal and two foul shots brought the score to 24-30. Foster of Klamath sunk one, and the Cavemen des perately stabbed two more field goals in the net before the fi nal whistle blew. Welch and Bocchi led the scoring with scores of twelve and ten each. Foster and Boc chi handled the ball well and worked zone defense by passing cutting. Hex Young, playing center, did an excellent job of getting the ball off the back boards. The small Grants Pass court hampered the fast breaking Pel ican game somewhat, but the Klamath men settled down to a game of zone defense and ol lense to protect their lead in the third quarter. On the local floor Saturday night, the Wildcats dropped the Bonanza nigh school hoopmen by a score ol 38-23, leading all tne way in a rough game, though no men were ousted lor personal louls. Eastman ol the Wildcats was high score man. In the Wildcat preliminary, the Frosh basketeers defeated the Bonanza B squad and con tinued their unbroken string of victories. A bucket by Tom Snyder, lanky rook forward, in the ' final minute put the game on ice for the Klamath team, ' The Frosh, coached by Paul Deller, have beat the Merrill and Malin B teams and won a scrimmage tilt with the Junior high school.
