OBITUARIES FRANK BAKER Frank Baker, resident of Bcat ty, Ore., pusscd awuy at the Klamath Agency, Ore., on Mon day, December 27, 1042 at 4:50 p. m. The deceased was a na tive of the Klamath reservation, unci was uged 41 years when called. Ho is survived by two daughters, Annabelle and Flor ence Baker of Albany, Ore.; his father, Joseph Baker of Salem, Ore.; two brothers, Quincy of Itcutly, and Blurton of Reno, Nov.; four sisters, Roslo Forest ot Alturas, Calif,, Martha Para zoo of Chiloquln; Lounita Crane of Beutty, and Audrey Eddlngton of Nixon, Ncv.; also 15 nephews and 10 niece-, all of Bcatty. ALICE NELSON Suruh Alice Nelson, a native of Ohio, uge 62 years 8 months, passed away in this city Mon day, December 28, at 8 p. m., utter an illness of several months, Mrs, Nelson was the widow of the late Stcrlen S. LAKE LANDS In an effort partially to elimi nate tho dust storms which sweep over tho Klumath basin, the U. S. burcuu of reclamation has decided to lease out some (1000 acres of land suitable for pasture or seeding to rye in tho lower Klamath lake area of the Modoc unit, it was learned Tuesday. Sealed bids will be received at the reclamation offices, federal building, January 14 at 2 p. m., and will I e opened at that time. There is no Irrigation system in this area, 2000 acres of which are west of Sheepy lake, 4000 acres south of that point. All leases will be made for the period ending December 31, 1943, with the option to extend the term of the lease for succes sive additional periods of one year each, but In no event be yond December 31, 1945, recla mation engineers stated.
