MANY LEADERS LOSE By VICTOR EUBANK NEW, YORK, Dec. 1 W Scattered specialties, Including air transports, attracted sporadic buying in today's stock market but the war-peace Inspiration waned appreciably and further tax selling chipped minor por tions from many leaders. Another big batch of dividends generally found stocks con cerned apathetic. Total 1942 declarations by the majority of companies, It was observed, fell short of last year's payments. Bonds were uneven. Transfers were around 600, 000 shares. National Aviation Corp. was the liveliest shifter, turning over in single deals of as much as 19,600 shares. It lost nearly a point but stiffened eventually. The company is an investment concern with large amounts of aircraft manufacturing as well as transport securities in its port folio. Aviation manufacturing is sues, prominent as war infants, have been on the soft side lately. WHEAT CHICAGO, Dec. 1 UP) A broader demand from outside interests, plus a let-up in liqui dation of December contracts, gave all grain pits a strong un dertone today. Rye Raced the advance with gains extending to more than 2 cents at times. Commission house buying was most noticeable - in the rye pit, where some large orders were executed. Part of the up turn was attributed to covering by traders who had previously sold short. Grain men said rye was favored because it is low priced in relation to other grains. Offerings In the wheat and corn pits were light, and at times both grains were up about a cent on scattered buying. Oats were not as firm as other grains, because of selling by houses with northwestern con nections. Wheaf closed higher, December $1.25 14-54, May $1.30V4-, corn was up 54-1 cent, December 85-85 H, oats finished lower to Vi higher, rye gained 1&-2& cents and soybeans closed Vt lower to H higher.
