Little Aurora Provencal en tertained with a Hallowe'en party Friday after school for a group of her little friends at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ruth Provencal on Cali fornia avenue. Games were played with refreshments served at a table gay with grinning pumpkins and or ange caps. Guests of Aurora were Shirley Mattoon, Judy Morris, Nancy Warren, Cora Lee Logsdon, Kathleen Junge, Kathleen Hamplock and Sara Stewart. Thursday evening there was a gay costume party given by Marilyn Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Johnson, and Jean Selby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Selby, at the Johnson home, 1878 Mel rose street. Guests were a group of the hostesses' school mates and they arrived in cos tume appropriate to the occa sion. Those enjoying the affair were Dewey Lambert, Mary Jane Howard, Mary Hooker, Barbara Badger, Billie Ann Morgan, Carol Lee Robtnette, Beverly Brown, Jane Tingley, Diane Swansea, Jean Fahn lander, Diane Binkley, Nancy Sbapleigh, Geraldine Chap man, Sandra Moore and Mari lyn Moore. Carmel Finnigan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Fin nigan, asked a group of little friends to her home on Wash ington street from five to half past eight o'clock tonight. The guests will come, in costume and games have been planned including the traditional bob bing for apples. Carmel will be hostess to Mary, Susan and Cecil e Vandenberg, Ellen Mur phy, Nora Murphy, David Ross, Nicholas and Roger Long, John Ross, Billie June and Lavetta McTaggert, Es ther Jean and Lee Trippett, Tony Tenney, Maribell Bry ant, Matthew and Jimmy Fin nigan. Guests will wear appropri ate masks and costumes to Jimmy Ivory's Hallowe'en party tonight at eight o'clock at the E. P. Ivory home on Manzanita street. Jimmy will be host to Bob Cramer, Bob Mead, John Leech, Earl Wise carver, Jean Gilchrist, Mar garet Bullard, Britta Lion, Betty Green, Betty Jo Brown, Dennis Knowles and Charlotte Ivory. HALLOWE'EN FAVORS AT PORTER PARTY LeRoy Porter's seventh birthday anniversary was pro perly celebrated on Tuesday after school when a group of the neighborhood boys called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Porter, 2031 Van Ness street, for birthday cake and ico cream. The Hallowe'en motif was used on the table and the birthday cake was gorgeously decorated in orange frosting with black cats and witches. Guests invited to the party were Jack and Greg Schulze, Jimmy Peak, Jimmy Erd mann. Max Helken, Billy Har lan, Donald and Gerald Johns ton, Donnie Drury, George Brandt, Ingram Montgomery and Ernest Dennis, and th host's sister Karen Porter. Daggetts Entertain Fri day Evening in Pelican Party Room. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Dag gett of Prineville were hosts at dinner in the Pelican party room Friday evening at half past eight o'clock to members of the wedding party of their daughter, Llsbeth Ann, and John Walter Lidstrom, imme diately following the rehear sal in the church. Deep red chrysanthemums were used to center the long table where covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schallock, Mr. and Mrs. Ern est M. KLAMATH GIRL ENLISTS FOR WAVES DUTY Beverly Reed Sanders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Reed of 213 McKinley street, is another of Klamath Falls' young women to join the WAVES, and will report December the fifteenth for ac tive duty. Beverly has Just returned from Seattle after having been officially sworn in on Octo ber the twenty-sixth. She was one of eighteen out of sixty selected for the post A gradu ate of Klamath Union high school, active in the Venture club and other organizations to the city, Beverly has many friends who offer their best wishes in her work with the WAVES. LEAGUE PLANS MEET ON NOVEMBER Members of the Junior league will meet Wednesday evening, November the fourth, at half "past seven o'clock, at the home of Mrs. W. R. Cow en, 112 Wendling street. As sisting hostesses will be Mrs. Donald L. Sloan, Mrs. J. D. Farris, and Mrs. Martin Swan son. Women will complete scrap books at this time, these books to be sent to a chil dren's hospital during the holiday season. Kennell-EUU 7 . .V Mrs. Lamm Named To Head Auxiliary Officers Reelected at Meeting of Reames Golf ' and Country Club Women on Friday Mrs. Wilfred E. Lamm, who has served as president of the women of Reames Golf and Country club, was elected to serve again by the membership as they gathered for the an nual election of officers and luncheon on Friday of this week. Named to continue as secretary and treasurer Is Mrs. Oscar Shive. Mrs. Lamm spoke to the group during the luncheon hour. When she was asked to serve for the duration, she replied, "Not for the duration ,but un- : til Victory." BETROTHAL IS ANNOUNCED Barbara Johnson, attractive daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. D. Johnson of Pacific Terrace, announced her betrothal recently at the University of Oregon, Eugene, to Cadet Stewart Nel son of Annapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nelson of Salem. Kennell-EUls the members decided to pur chase a $100 war bond from their funds. Golf will continue to be played at the club but the tournament season has of ficially ended as have the regular Friday social func tions. There were a number play ing golf Friday morning and luncheon was served at one o'clock at tables centered with late fall blossoms. A gift was presented to Mrs. Lamm by the women. Cards followed the luncheon. Winners in the husband and wife tournament held last Sun day were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Swanson, it was announced. MISS COGHILL PAYS VISIT TO KLAMATH Fifty women gathered in St. Paul's parish house Tues day afternoon to greet Pattie Lee Coghill of New York, ex ecutive secretary of the board of home missions of the Con gregational church. The af fair was given by the Council of Church Women of which Mrs. John Yadon is president. Miss Coghill gave a very In spiring talk during the after noon, discussing the work of the church in the south, prob lems of the share cropper and other questions of Interest in ' regard to that section. At four o'clock tea was serv ed at a table prettily appointed with, a lace cloth, a center ar rangement of mixed fall flow ers and tall white candles burning on either side. The fire place and mantel were banked with autumn leaves. Pouring was Mrs. Arthur Charles Bates. Farewell Parties Klamath Matron Plans Extended Stay in North Several informal affairs have been given for Mrs. G. Logan Black of this city who leaves late Monday evening with her son. Donald, for an extended stay in the north. The two will visit in Bend and Salem with relatives, Donald returning here within a week to report for active duty with tho armed force. Theodore Smith on North Second street. v WEDDING SOLEMNIZED IN CINCINNATI A wedding of interest in Klamath Falls was that of Viola Begley Wald who be came the bride of Mr. Don ald Schafer Jr, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday, October the twenty-fourth. The ceremony was read in the chapel of Children's hos pital, Cincinnati, Ohio. The attendants were the bride's sister, Mrs. Wayne Weldaw, and Mr. George Schafer, brother of the groom. Mrs. Schafer attended Ohio , State university and then en tered Christ Hospital School of Nursing from which she was graduated In May. She is now employed at the Gen eral hospital in Cincinnati. Mr. Schafer is a senior at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine and is the ' son of Dr. Don Schafer of Fort Wayne. MUSICALE GIVEN ON THURSDAY. GFS SUPPER MONDAY EVP IN CHURCH Thirty members of the Girls Friendly society of St. Paul's Episcopal church met Mon , day evening in the parish house for supper at half past five o'clock followed by dis cussion. Miss Hazel Morrison, ad visor, prepared the hot dish and the girls brought a sack supper. Later Mrs. Harlan P. Bosworth, discussion group leader, led the topic, "Step ping Out," prepared by the national organization. Mrs. B. B. Blomqulst of Klamath Union high school faculty will present a pro- gram of drama technique and there will be a group of two piano numbers by Mrs. Joseph C. O'Neill and Mrs. Samuel A. Mushcn who were so delight fully received last year when they appeared in a prouriim before Library club members. Tho program will bo opened with a group of Mozart, Bach and Beethoven numbers fol lowed by Mrs. Blomqulst. A lighter group of piano num bers will be played and Mrs. Blomqulst will then present the second port of her pro gram which will end with piano numbers In the modern vein.
