Sealed bids in duplicate on forms provided therefor, marked out side "Bid, South Calimus Timber Unit," and addressed to the "Su perintendent, Klamath Agency, Oregon," will be received until 2 o'clock p. m. Pacific time, No vember 20, 1942, for the pur chase of merchantable timber on a tract within the Klamath In dian Reservation, Oregon, de scribed as the South Calimus Timber Unit. The Unit includes about 20, 910 timbered acres with an estimated cut of 149, 000,000 feet B. M., of ponderosa and sugar pines, of which about 108,000 feet of ponderosa pine stands on about 45 timbered acres of allotted lands, for which separate approved contracts must afterward be made with al lottees desiring to sell, and on terms similar to the contract for the unallotted timber. Each bid must state the price per thous and feet B.M., Scribner Decimal C Log Scale, that will be paid for timber cut and scaled prior to March 31, 1943. 'Prises subse-. quent to that date are to be fixed by the Secretary of the Interior. No bid will be considered for less than $4.75 per thousand feet BJ1. for. ponderosa and sugar pines, $1.50 for Douglas fir and incense cedar, and $0.75 for other species. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of $22,000 on a solvent National Bank, pay. able to the Special Disbursing Agent, Klamath' Indian Agency, Oregon. The deposit will be re turned to unsuccessful bidders. The deposit of the successful bid der will be applied as part of the purchase price against timber ac tually cut on this Unit only, or retained as liquidated damages if the bidder shall not execute contract and furnish satisfactory bond for $30,000 within 60 days from acceptance of his bid. The right to waive technical defects and to reject any and all bids is reserved. The contract will speci fy that all designated timber shall be cut and removed from the Unit prior to April 1, 1954.
