Crawford, will be broadcast from 1:30 to 2 o'clock every Sunday afternoon over more than ZOO stations on the coast-to-coast network of the Mutual Broadcasting system, be ginning August 30. In addition, plans are now underway to have this program aired by shortwave from station HCJB, Quiiq, Ecua dor, to South American listen ers. From a modest beginning 11 years ago, the Young People's Church of the Air, one of the first programs to feature non denominational gospel services, has grown steadily in popular appeal. Last April Rev. Craw ford responded to public demand by scheduling his program for broadcast every Sunday during the summer months for the first time. Large Audience The Young People's Church of the Air until now has been heard over 85 stations. The present tremendous expansion in station outlets will give this pro gram one of the largest audi ences of any continuing radio feature. Instrumental music, a choir and a vocal quartet are used to complement the inspira tional message preached by Rev. Crawford. All of the musical arrangements are made by Mrs. Crawford. : During the year, in addition to Us appeal to his radio audi ence of. many millions, Rev. Bates, former district superintendent of north Pacific district, will be the speaker at a special revival service beginning Sunday, August 30 and closing September 13 at the Nazarene church. ' . Dr. Bates spent some time in China as general missionary srcyreiary for the church ot the Nazarene. He also has been sit perintendent of three districts. Rev. The pub lic is invited to these services. CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES "Christ Jesus" will be the sub ject ot the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, August 30. The Golden Text will be 'The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John 1:17.) Among the citations which will comprise the Lesson-Sermon are the following from the Bi ble: "Behold, the days come,1 saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and pros per, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jer. 23: 5,8.) Break up the catfish Into small pieces and soak 15 minutes In salted water. Dice the fat or butts meat, stow In a little water for 20 minutes. Simmer, do not cook rapidly. Add onions and green pepper, cut Into small pieces, to stewing meat and sim mer for 15 minutes. Then odd catfish and simmer with a little more water added. When meat and fish nro almost tender, add the diced potatoes and cook only until potatoes are tender.
