Crescent Lake CRESCENT LAKE Mrs Alidn Machen drove to Chilo- quln Thursday where she left her car for repairs. She expects to leave next week for Fresno, where she will visit her daugh ter for about a week, before re turning to her summer home on Crescent lake. Mrs. Machen Is one of this section's most ardent fishermen and spends most of each summer at. the lake. Mrs Albert D. Davis left Wednesday (or San Francisco after spending some weeks at her summer home on Odell lake. She and Dr; Davis, who is a leading plastic surgeon in the bay city, expect to return later for a short stay at the lake, probably in September. Shaffer, of Eugene, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hall, of Crescent Lake. The Halls took their guests out on Crescent lake Saturday evening in their boat. Martin and Mrs. Uamsby are at tha Martin summer home on Odell lake. This house, which was struck by a falling tree last fall, has been completely built over and Is at present (or sale. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Whitlock of Klamath Falls arc at their Odell lake summer borne for a short visit. Mrs. Myrtle Kldwell, of Eu gene, Is the guest of her daugh ter, Mr. G. If. Alklns, and Mr. Alkina ut their summer home on Crescent lako. It is good to see Camp Ma kuala, Hoy Scout camp on Cres cent lake, again occupied and the woods are full of boys these days. Horseback riding will be an activity one day each week and it Is supposed Dwight Gil christ will launch that dug out canoe which was made with such labor and patience last year. The next meeting will be held August 14 at the home of Mrs. Bessie Frazier, and the afternoon will be taken up with the study and making of corsages. Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Marche of Klamath Falls spent several days last week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mullennax. Mrs. Margaret Wesson who has spent the past two months with Mrs, Ada Sparretorn, left Saturday for Dorris where she will visit for a while before leaving for a trip east. At the FFA meeting held at the agriculture building Friday night the boys decided to spend this weekend at Lake o' the Woods. They will leave from the high school at 5:30 Saturday evening. August 8. The Red Cross sewing chap ter is meeting every two weeks at the home of Mrs. Owen Pep ple. It is hoped that there will be a good attendance each time for this worthwhile cause. Those who have also attended in former years are Gary Cruik shank, Bill Roberts and Harold and John Ogle. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Jones and daughter, Beverly, are mov ing this week to a home they recently purchased on Kayne avenue in Homedale. He is now working at Camp 6 near Beatty. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Woodard and baby son have sold their household goods and car and gone by train to their former home in Arkansas. Kay Dfldley of Phoenix is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ten nery. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Holllng worth and son Ralph have re turned from a visit with rela tives in Boise, Ida. Mrs. H. H. Ogle and children spent a few days recently with relatives at Merrill and Tule lake. Mrs. pvea Adams who taught In this community a few years ago plans to teach this year at Newell, the Japanese center, near Tulelake.
